Around here we say, “I’m fine” the same way we say, “Cold enough for ya?” It’s just what we do. But stress can build up over time, and sometimes “I’m fine” carries a little extra weight.

Talking about the stresses of farm life can help when things get overwhelming. So, when someone says, “I’m fine,” maybe ask again. It’s fine to not be “fine.”

Make Mental Health a Priority

Mental health should be an ongoing priority in our lives and in our communities.
When we speak up and support one another, we help create spaces where people feel more comfortable talking about mental health and seeking help. Advocacy also helps ensure that resources are available when they’re needed most.

Together, we can build a stronger, more supportive community.

Thank you to everyone who made the Waseca County Bike Rodeo a massive success!! 🚴‍♂️☀️

We had an incredible turnout with 75 kids participating! Because of our amazing community sponsors, we were able to donate 20 helmets to keep young riders safe, and 4 lucky kids walked away with brand-new bikes! 🚲🎉

A huge shout-out to all those who helped make this event possible—we absolutely couldn’t have done it without your support! 🤝

May is National Blood Pressure Month! High blood pressure, also called hypertension, affects many people and can lead to heart problems and stroke. The tricky part is, you might not feel sick even if your blood pressure is high.

A healthy blood pressure is usually around 120/80. It’s important to check your numbers regularly. Eating healthy foods, staying active, and managing stress can help keep your blood pressure in a healthy range.

This May, take a moment to check your blood pressure and share this message with your family and friends. Small steps can help keep your heart healthy!

Dealing with asthma or allergies? You’re not alone.

May is National Asthma and Allergy Awareness Month, and it’s the perfect time to take control of your health (yes, even during allergy season).

Here’s your quick checklist:
-Carry your inhaler or allergy meds (everywhere, not just "just in case")
-Know your triggers (like pollen, pets, or sports)
-Talk to your doctor if something feels off

Public Health Careers in the Classroom! 🎤

Sara and Ashley spent the week connecting with 67 students from St. Clair, NRHEG, Waseca, and TCU high schools! 🏫
As part of the High STEP program, they shared
• Career Pathways and what it’s really like to work in public health
• Hands-on Learning with an interactive activity on handling heat emergencies
• Local Impact and how we work every day to keep our communities safe and healthy

We love seeing local students explore careers that give back to their hometowns!

Farmers face a lot of uncertainty: markets shift, weather is unpredictable, and equipment breaks down. When the tough days turn into tough seasons, stress can build up over time.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, talking to someone can help. Reach out to a friend, family member, or neighbor and let them know how you’re doing. Tough seasons are easier when we face them together.
