The Veterans Memorial Committee has installed all plaques that were purchased prior to the August 15th deadline. The Location Index has also been updated to help you locate a particular plaque.

Also, we want to remind you that a plaque on the Waseca County Veterans Memorial would make a wonderful Christmas present for a veteran in your family. Orders received before March 15th will be installed before the following Memorial Day and orders received before August 15th will be installed before the following Veterans Day. Plaques must be purchased through the Waseca County Veterans Service office. Over the weekend the Memorial Committee mounted 14 new veteran plaques. This brings the total number of plaques to 917. We will be adding plaques again this fall. New plaque orders placed before August 15th will be installed prior to Veterans Day. Plaques must be purchased through the Waseca County Veterans Service office. A special thank you to the Waseca Boy Scouts Troop 85 for the Christmas wreaths again this year. A reminder to all, a memorial plaque is a great Christmas gift for a veteran. VETERAN PLAQUE APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
1. Veterans MUST have an honorable discharge from any military branch of the United States and must have discharge papers, DD214 or equivalent.
2. And be a native of Waseca County (regardless of current address) or be submitted by a family member connected with Waseca County to honor family members who may or may have lived in Waseca County (please share the nature of these connections in writing along with the application).
3. For each plaque there must be a completed (clearly printed) application with a DD214 or equivalent discharge papers and $200.00 in cash or check.
4. Veterans killed in action (proof required) will receive their plaque free of charge.

A friend of a veteran (someone who has no family link to Waseca County) or veteran friend of a family member who has a no link to Waseca County does NOT qualify. There MUST be a Waseca County family representation (i.e., father, mother, son, daughter, uncle, aunt, grandparent, great grandparent, etc).

Plaques purchased before March 15th will be installed before Memorial of the same year. Plaques purchased before July 15th will be installed before Veterans Day of the same year.

The Veterans Memorial Committee installed all that were purchased prior to the July deadline. More than 900 plaques have been installed onto the tables to date. The Location Index has also been updated to help you locate a particular plaque.
You can still order a plaque for yourself or a relative to be installed at a later date. Orders received before March 10th will be installed before the following Memorial Day and orders received before July 10th will be installed before the following Veterans Day and orders. The veteran must have lived in Waseca County, or have an immediate relative who lives or had lived in Waseca County. We suggest that if you wish to have family veterans together on the monument you order all plaques together to insure placement as a group. Plaques must be purchased through the Waseca County Veterans Service office.
