Good Morning and thank you for following me over to Facebook as we cannot send mass mail or email from our official account between July 18th and the election. We will restart my email updates as soon as legally possible.
This week I will provide a brief summary of the events and opportunities that keep us busy while we are not in session up in St. Paul.
Monday, July 20th
I spent a full day in House District 33B (Stillwater, MN) with Representative Josiah Hill. The day started with a meeting of local leaders followed by a tour of Lumberjack Landing. Next, we visited the Stillwater Veterans Memorial, Courthouse, Jail, and Sherrif’s residence. Next, we visited the lift bridge that is still active today; however, bridge crossings are limited to pedestrians and bicyclists. After a working lunch, we toured Anderson windows, Stillwater State prison, a Lift Bridge Brewery, and dinner at Matchstick.
I hope to share pictures of this visit soon.
This was an outstanding opportunity, and I am very glad to host Representative Hill in HD-19B on August 3rd, 2026. The schedule is very tentative; however, we will meet Medford City and School District leaders in Medford, tour a local manufacturing plant in Owatonna, check-in on our business incubator project in Owatonna, meet local leaders, and then transition to Waseca to meet with local leaders and discuss agricultural issues.
Tuesday, July 21st
Coordinated constituent issues.
Wednesday, July 22nd
Toured the Daikin research laboratory and testing center in Plymouth, MN. This was a great opportunity to see real energy conservation solutions being introduced and tested in Minnesota. In addition, it was fantastic to brag about the great Daikin workforce and manufacturing operations in Owatonna and Faribault.
Thursday, July 23rd
Met with local leaders to plan Representative Hill’s visit on August 3rd as well as discussing on-going initiatives that make our community stronger.
Friday, July 24th
Attended an Association of Residential Resources in Minnesota zoom call to receive an update on several Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) initiatives.
We have been working together with many of our local human services providers to prevent loss of services during the revalidation process managed by MN DHS. As we continue to discover, there is plenty of room for improvement as we assist our good providers and make sure fraudulent providers are held accountable.
