We celebrated the 2026 DARE graduation with a great 5th grade class. It was wonderful to see all the families support at the Waseca Intermediate School. A few fantastic essays were read by students on what they learned during the 10 week program. Det. Wellman and Sgt. Luiken enjoyed teaching this hard-working and enthusiastic class on the importance of good decision making. Thank you to all the students for participating!

We've had quite a few questions about e-scooters, 🛴 e-bikes and the like! We've also had a few complaints about riders on them...*cough* PARENTS....talk to your kids about safe cruising, or send them our way 👮and we can chat with them before they have an uh-oh moment. 🤕🚑🩼 We want everyone to be safe!

We created a handy reference chart for you at the link below. Please take a look and make sure you are taking personal responsibility for using your ride correctly! Here's a quick peek 👀: E-Motos (no pedals, throttle only, capable of 30 mph +) are considered motorcycles and require a license, insurance and motorcycle endorsement!

We had a set of keys turned in to us in the Northeast part of town. The set has a religious tag on the ring. If you can come in person and describe the set of the keys in detail we can release them.

Today maintenance is being performed on the Tornado Sirens in the City of Waseca. There may be times the sirens briefly activate while the maintenance is being done.

Tomorrow, April 16th is Tornado Drill day for Severe Weather Awareness Week. At 1:45 pm and 6:45 pm sirens will be activated for the full 3 minute cycle.

Our Police Department would not be able to operate without them and we are so thankful of their hard work and commitment to our community.

Parks and Fire staff will be doing some controlled burning of vegetation on city property this afternoon. Plumes of white smoke may be visible.

Burns are carefully controlled and monitored, then extinguished before crews leave the area.

Please give crews room to work!

We hope to use this new system in the future for community alerts, notices and other important communications with our residents. Thank you!

Waseca County will no longer be using CodeRED and has partnered with Regroup to launch a new mass notification system designed to keep the community informed and prepared during critical events.
Regroup will be used to share important information such as emergency and weather alerts, public safety notifications and other time-sensitive messages.

If you previously signed up for CodeRED Emergency Notification System we cannot guarantee your information is in the new Regroup system; therefore, we strongly encourage everyone to click on the Regroup link or scan the QR code and complete the registration process. This way we will have your current information which will ensure you receive alerts the way you prefer.
