Congratulations to the Washburn band and choir students who performed in the State Solo & Ensemble Festival at UW-Eau Claire last Saturday! Nine of our musicians participated in a total of ten events at the festival, and all received great feedback from their judges! A special shout-out to Raina U for winning the Exemplary Performance Award for her Musical Theater piece!

Congratulations to the 6th Grade Choir, Middle School Choir and high school Concert Choir on their performances at the Large Group Choir Festival today! Middle School and Concert Choir both received 1st ratings from a panel of exceptional area music teachers! 6th grade performed for Comments Only and also did a fantastic job and received great feedback. A great day for Washburn choral music!

Fifteen of our Washburn Middle School students are participating in the NWMA Middle School All-Conference Choir today at Ashland High School. Stufens from Washburn, Ashland, Bessemer, Drummond, Solon Springs, and South Shore will be rehearsing all day before presenting a concert at 1:30 in the AHS auditorium. Support the Washburn Music Department by checking out today’s Play It Forward Craft Fair! We have over 50 vendors crammed into our gym for Al of your early holiday shopping needs. There will be a drawing for some great baskets and other items, as well as a 50/50 raffle, taking place at 2pm.

Eleven members of the Washburn Concert Choir participated in the NWMA High School All-Conference Choir at Northwestern High School this past Wednesday. It was a great day of music making and connecting with other area choir students, and the group presented a concert in the afternoon. Very proud of our Washburn student musicians!

The Washburn High School Band just finished a great instrumental workshop! The group spent a couple hours this afternoon working with Allen Gray of Disney, and recorded a segment of music sequenced to a piece of Disney animation. We’ve had a great start to our music department trip!
