We try and keep Simplicity fashion daily in our lives on the farm. I planned out this grand garden this year (that I had a ton of help with) never really doubting I wouldn’t have the time and effort to really get into it. By the grace of God and him sending me all the help we have some produce to put away for later use. I have an overwhelming amount of zucchini and yellow squash so send me all the recipes to use that up. I have the freezer space. All produce we grow is natural, no pesticides used, only fish emulsion or other organic matter for fertilizer. It’s amazing the quality you get when away from the commercial stuff in the stores.

We talk about things taking a village: I’m hoping to continue being blessed by our Savior to grow this village. Thank you to all of my friends, family and customers that have continued to support us in our growing business and farm. More exciting things to come. We welcome all prayers and prayer requests!

Many of you asked how to help after we reporting some cash stolen from the information booth a few weeks ago. We have a way you can make a big impact in our community!

We will be hosting a safety event for kids next month where we will be gifting kids in need life jackets and bike helmets.

New equipment can be purchased through the Walmart wish here: https://www.walmart.com/lists/wishlist/82bbc7c1-7af8-4945-aaae-38bf1546c2c5

Gently used equipment can be brought to the information tent during farmers market hours.

We are so grateful for this community and your willingness to step up to support the farmers market.

Shop local, shop small!!! Most local farmers markets and growers will have at least one heirloom variety at their booth!!! Come check out our neighbors at Bentonville Farmers Market. Instagram https://www.instagram.com/sky.blossoms.llc?igsh=dWlleHJlanljbHNz or Cash Springs Family Farm on the Promenade or find them at Oak Hollow Market!!! We are personally growing 2 of these the last few years and just absolutely love them ❤️

Your supermarket tomato was engineered to survive a truck, not a taste test.

BRANDYWINE: massive ribbed pink beefsteak, flavor score tops every blind tasting, dropped for thin skin.
BLACK KRIM: smoky salinity from Crimea, splits in rain, so distributors said no.
GREEN ZEBRA: ripe at full green, buyers kept marking it unripe and sending it back.
CHEROKEE PURPLE: bruises on contact, flavor rated exceptional, packers could not handle it.
MORTGAGE LIFTER: bred by one man in West Virginia, sweet low-acid flesh, too lumpy to stack.
AMISH PASTE: dense dry flesh that makes thick sauce fast, invisible in stores by the 1980s.
YELLOW PEAR: honey-sweet clusters, skin too delicate for any commercial line.

This knowledge did not disappear because these tomatoes failed. It disappeared because a distribution system built around uniformity, firmness, and travel time had no category for a tomato that tasted extraordinary but arrived with a crease or a bruise.

What replaced them was bred backward. Modern commercial varieties were selected for gas-ripening tolerance, uniform red color, and skin thick enough to bounce. Flavor was never a selection criterion. Not once.

Grow one of these this year. Save the seed. Hand it to someone. That is how it comes back.
