Hello CHEC family, Alexis reporting from Cat Island, Bahamas. Here I left you a little of what we learned on Wednesday. I hope you like it.
During the 1800s, there were 50 plantations located on the island. You could see how enslaved people drew boats on the walls and, as CHEC students, we thought that they drew the boats on the wall because they might have seen more boats approaching the island. The tour guy whose name is Daisy Mae Hunter is agreed that is true.

Our tour guide told us that she attended the school located next to the ruins. She also mentioned that land had been passed down from generation to generation.

Museum: The museum presented images from the 19th century, providing a vision of historical life.

Newbold: This plantation was known for its medicinal plants.

Healing Pond: It was said that this pond cured all ailments. If you entered the water and believed in its power, you might have experienced its healing effects. Our team tried it to live the experience.

Blue Hole: This legendary place was reported to have sightings of a mermaid, adding a mystical touch to our visit.

To finish our day, we saw a beautiful sunset.

— See you soon! CHEC family!
