Enter in August!!

THE ANNUAL DCBS BATTLE OF THE BANDS & SOLO/DUO COMPETION WILL BE HELD ON SUNDAY, OCTOBER 4, 2026 at American Legion Post 41, Cissel-Saxon (instead of the DCBS 1st Sunday Blues Jam in October)

The winners of these two competitions represent the DC Blues Society at the 2026 International Blues Challenge in Memphis AND will be paid to perform at the 2027 Annual DC Blues Festival (Subject to Change).

The DCBS deadline for entering the Band, Solo/Duo, Youth and Best Self-Produced CD categories is September 1, 2026.

The contests are open to blues artists from DC, Maryland and Virginia and an opportunity to showcase BluesinMD with Blues Fans Travel

The DC Blues Society is sad to share that our wonderful long time volunteer Mama K passed away. She was the DCBS Newsletter editor in 2008-2009 and stayed involved to help afterwards. She managed the DCBS Flickr page that has many of her Photos. In addition to her WPFW and Tinner Hill Music Festival activities, she created DCBS Festival fliers and weekly DCBS eblasts. We'll miss her support of BluesinMD with Blues Fans Travel.
