If Russia Wanted Peace
The upcoming 🇺🇦 #UAPeaceSummit in Switzerland is a worthy step toward bringing about a genuine future peace process based on the UN Charter. It is currently the only broadly supported effort to initiate such peace, with participants from across the world. The EU is proud to be a part. European External Action Service - EEAS

HRVP Message on Europe Day
Two years ago, #Russia brought high-intensity war back to European borders.
A special #EuropeDay message from EU foreign affairs chief Josep Borrell about how the EU is securing #freedom and #democracy, 74 years after the birth of the EU.
Today is #EuropeDay! #OnThisDay in 1950, French Foreign Minister Robert Schuman presented the Schuman Declaration, which proposed the creation of the European Coal and Steel Community. The ECSC was the first of several supranational European institutions that would ultimately become today's EU.
That means we're 74 years young today! And still going strong as a global leader protecting the values of respect for human dignity, freedom, democracy, equality, the rule of law, and respect for human rights. 💪 🇪🇺
📰 As our eyes and ears on the ground, #journalists must be protected at all times, everywhere. On this #WorldPressFreedomDay, the EU remains steadfast in its commitment to protect #MediaFreedom and pluralism around the world. ✊
2004 Enlargement Anniversary

#EarthDay recognizes the progress made to protect the environment, but also reminds us of the importance of preserving Earth’s natural resources for future generations. This year’s theme is “Planet vs. Plastic,” so we decided to highlight how our Delegation in Washington is reducing plastic use and waste. And share your own tips for reducing plastic use in the comments! #EarthDay2024 #PlanetvsPlastic

Two Years of War in Ukraine
Europe lives in Ukraine's brave fight for freedom. Europe lives in the eyes of all Ukrainians who fight for a better future.
For the past two years, EU leaders have visited Kyiv to bring European support and solidarity. But they did not bring the spirit of Europe – because it is already there.
As we mark the tragic anniversary of Russia's illegal and unjustified war against Ukraine, the EU says: Slava Ukraini. We #StandWithUkraine. https://europa.eu/!NFHPNB

Why are European elections important?
In a world where free and fair elections are becoming rarer, we must safeguard our democracy. And to do that, we must VOTE. 🗳️
The European Elections will take place June 6-9. If you are an EU citizen living in the United States, you can still make your voice heard. Learn how here: https://bit.ly/3SDSbS2
Human Rights Day 2023
On this #HumanRightsDay, we mark 75 years of the Universal Declaration of #HumanRights. This United Nations document set the foundation for the EU's own human rights framework, and its contents we continue to defend. Today, we affirm: Human rights for EVERYONE.
