There are five upcoming Scoping Sessions for the Desert Southwest Expansion Project.

FERC invites community members, landowners, Tribal representatives, and interested organizations to attend upcoming in‑person scoping sessions for the proposed Desert Southwest Expansion Project (Docket No. PF26-9-000)

Scoping sessions are an opportunity for you to share your environmental concerns directly into FERC’s official record. There is no formal presentation. Instead, you’ll meet one‑on‑one with a transcriptionist who will record your comment for the docket.

‼️Public Notice: Final Environmental Impact Statement Available for the Proposed Mississippi Crossing Project and South System Expansion 4 Project.

Federal Energy Regulatory Commission staff has released the Final Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the Mississippi Crossing Project (MSX) and South System Expansion 4 Project (SSE4)—proposed natural gas pipeline projects spanning Mississippi, Alabama, and Georgia.

The EIS evaluates environmental impacts, reasonable alternatives, and mitigation measures.

The analysis finds that while the projects would result in limited adverse environmental effects, these impacts would be less than significant with required avoidance and mitigation measures.

Why is FERC proposing updates to the blanket certificate program?

According to the proposed rule, the changes are intended to modernize the program by:

✅Increasing project cost limits
✅Expanding the types of activities that may qualify for blanket authorization
✅Streamlining approval processes for certain natural gas projects

What is a “blanket certificate”?

A blanket certificate is a type of authorization that allows interstate natural gas pipeline companies to complete certain routine projects without filing a separate application with FERC for each project.

Examples may include facility upgrades, equipment replacements, or small expansions.

FERC is proposing changes that could allow more projects to qualify for these streamlined approvals.

Federal Energy Regulatory Commission is seeking public comment on proposed changes to its natural gas pipeline blanket certificate regulations. (Docket No. RM25-12-001).

A blanket certificate allows interstate natural gas pipeline companies to perform certain construction, replacement, and upgrade projects without obtaining separate Commission authorization for every project.

FERC is proposing updates that would increase project cost limits and expand the types of projects eligible for blanket certificate authorization.

The Commission wants to hear from YOU.

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission is hosting a series of public Scoping Sessions for the planned Bakken East Pipeline Project.

Scoping Sessions are an important part of FERC’s environmental review process. These sessions give community members an opportunity to share input, identify potential environmental impacts, suggest reasonable alternatives, and raise local concerns that should be considered as the review moves forward.

FERC’s in‑person Scoping Sessions will take place:
• May 19, 2026 – Watford City, ND
• May 20, 2026 – Hazen, ND
• May 21, 2026 – Bismarck, ND
• June 2, 2026 – Jamestown, ND
• June 4, 2026 – Casselton, ND

All sessions run from 5:00–7:00 pm CT.

FERC staff and the applicant will be on site to provide information and answer questions. Public comments gathered during this phase help inform the environmental analysis required under federal law.

The comment period for this stage closes June 4, 2026, at 5:00 pm ET.

Public input needed! The draft EIS for the Kosciusko Junction Pipeline Project is open for comment until May 26, 2026.

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) has released the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the Kosciusko Junction Pipeline Project, which proposes new and modified natural gas pipelines and facilities across several counties in Mississippi. The draft EIS evaluates potential environmental impacts and outlines measures to minimize them.

Public comments are due by 5:00 pm ET on May 26, 2026.
