Last month, our Military District of Washington Medical Recruiting Company kicked off their Summer Webinar Series showcasing Army Social Work Programs. It was inspiring to connect with future and current social work professionals, faculty, and educational stakeholders, and to share the range of opportunities Army social work has to offer. A special thank to their rock star panelists Army MAJ Kenny Harris III, PhD, LCSW, BCD , CPT Cam Ashdown, PhD, LCSW, BCD , and MAJ Melissa Marcelli- Flint for lending their time and insight. We are so proud of all they have and will continue to accomplish in their field.

The conversation focused on the career paths available through Army social work, from clinical care and behavioral health roles to leadership and advanced academic opportunities. A key theme that emerged was the unique professional growth, community impact, and sense of purpose found in this line of work.
