The Department of Commerce seeks comments to the draft Learning Agenda for FY2022 to FY2026 by January 31, 2022 at 5pm (ET).
General comments are welcome but comments focused on the following areas are of particular interest.
1. Strategies to best engage with underserved communities and populations on research methodology
2. Data sets maintained by states, localities, regional organizations, or non-profits that could support the research
3. Recent significant research most relevant to the Learning Agenda questions.

In 2021, MBDA's InVision Tour events included several partnerships with academia, NASA’s Johnson Space Center, the Federal Laboratory Consortium, and the U.S. Small Business Administration. The Department of Commerce Minority Business Development Agency seeks comments on the Rural Business Center Program by January 25, 2022 at 5pm (ET).
Comments describing the types of businesses in rural areas, the needs of businesses in rural areas, unique challenges and success stories of rural businesses are welcome. Additional comments related to the role of education, training and entrepreneurship programs and comments regarding performance metrics to determine the effectiveness of business center programs.

Many minority-owned businesses still face challenges due to the lingering effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. While recovery is underway in many sectors of the economy, MBDA recognizes that entrepreneurs still struggle to access the resources that will help reopen, sustain, and grow their business.

MBDA Year-In-Review Highlight: MBDA first launched Buy MBE Day in 1983. It’s now a nationwide movement to boost MBE sales and increase awareness of the economic and social contributions minority entrepreneurs make to the American economy. Sponsored by T-Mobile for Business in 2021, Buy MBE Day is the culminating event of MED Week every year. MBDA Business Centers hosted local events that complemented the national marketing campaign.
