!!Attention!! Holiday Schedule: 26 December 2022

This post clarifies AFMS-Andrews-316th Medical Group operating status for 23-26 December.

The clinic will observe normal operating hours Friday, 23 December. However, staffing may be limited due to the upcoming holiday leave schedule.

In observance of the federal holiday, services will be limited to the Emergent Care Center starting Monday, 26 December. Normal operations will resume Tuesday, 27 December.

Emergent Care Center at JB Andrews is open 7 days per week 0700-1900.

The JBAB Clinic will open under two hours delayed arrival Thursday, December 15, 2022 in accordance with OPM guidelines.

**JBAB COVID-19 Testing Hours Update**

Starting 01 Nov 2022, the COVID-19 drive-thru testing hours at JBAB will change to 0800-1000 Monday-Friday.

COVID-19 PCR testing will continue to be a drive-thru, first come, first serve, phone triage service. Enter via the back side of the medical clinic off Angel St.

You *MUST* meet one of the following CDC and/or DoD criteria for a PCR test:

--Have COVID-19 symptoms
--Testing for official travel or return to OCONUS duty station if needed
--Meet CDC criteria for testing as a close contact**
--Have not tested positive for COVID within the past 90 days

**Close contact = less than 6 ft away from a confirmed positive individual for a cumulative of 15 minutes of more over a 24-hour period.

**Test at day 5 from last day of contact with confirmed positive
individual or sooner if symptoms develop.

Please enter through the clinic's main parking lot entrance and proceed around towards the eastern side of the 316th Medical Squadron (MDS) Administration Building. COVID Testing will resume in the traditional location on Mon, 17 October.

- FLU PODS at the Bolling Clinic will begin this Wed/Thur from 1600-1800 hrs for First Responders, Fire, and CDC staff.

- Next week, on Wed/Thurs (19 & 20 Oct) 16-1800 hrs: HG and Band

- The following week, on Wed/Thurs (26 & 27 Oct) 16-1800 hrs: Remaining 11 Wg personnel and DIA.

- Additionally, AD members do not have to wait until the after-hours flu line to receive their vaccine. They can walk in to the Immunizations Clinic for their flu shots M-F, from 0800-1600 hrs. Beneficiaries are eligible to walk into the clinic to receive their flu vaccine starting on 1 Nov.

- COVID bivalent is available every Tuesday on a walk-in basis from 0800-1600 hrs.

COVID TESTING | The Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling COVID testing location will temporarily shift on Tuesday, 11 October. Please drive through the clinic main entrance to the eastern side of the 316th Medical Squadron (MDS) Administration Building. COVID Testing will resume in the traditional location on 12 October. Please note that COVID testing will be closed, along with all other medical services, on Thursday, 13 October for Medical Group training day.

***JBAB COVID-19 VACCINE BOOSTER DOSE UPDATE**

The JBAB Immunizations Clinic will start offering the new bivalent Pfizer booster to walk-in patients who are 12 years and older this Tuesday, 20 September 2022. Bivalent Pfizer boosters will then be offered, on a walk-in, first-come, first-served basis, every subsequent Tuesday.

***JBAB PEDIATRIC COVID-19 VACCINE UPDATE**

JBAB Immunization clinic will offer pediatric Covid-19 vaccines starting Wednesday, 20 July 2022.
The Moderna COVID-19 vaccine (applicable for ages ages 6 months through 5 years old) is available on Wednesdays starting Wednesday, 20 Jul 22.
The Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine (applicable for for ages 6 months through 4 years old) is available on Fridays starting Friday, 22 Jul 22.
The schedule for Moderna and Pfizer for 6 months-4 & 5 years old is as follows:

Wednesdays - Pediatric Moderna for ages 6 months through 5 years old:
* Primary series = 2 doses
* Second dose given 4-8 weeks after the first dose
* By appointment only from 0730-1130 & 1300-1530

MDS ASSUMPTION OF COMMAND | The JBAB Clinic will be CLOSED between 0700-1200, this Friday, 15 Jul 22, due to the Squadron’s Assumption of Command.

CLINIC SERVICES WILL RE-OPEN at 1200.

There will be NO COVID Testing all day and will resume Monday, 18 Jul at 0800. Patients can receive COVID-19 testing at Joint Base Andrews, Fort Belvoir, Walter Reed, or in the local economy, if needed.

For all other medical concerns, the Emergent Care Center at Joint Base Andrews will remain open between 0700-1900 all week to provide emergency and urgent care services. Thursday, February 10th, will be the last day for COVID-19 testing at the Curative testing site at the base Chapel. COVID-19 testing will continue at the JBAB clinic parking lot on Friday, February 11th, from 0730-1200.

Starting Monday, 14 February, COVID-19 testing at the JBAB clinic parking lot will be open Mon-Friday from 0730-1200.

COVID-19 testing will be prioritized to service members, DOD civilians working or living at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling or Joint Base Andrews, and Tricare beneficiaries. Prioritized categories may fluctuate daily based on demand. You must meet one of the following CDC and/or DoD criteria for a PCR test:

Starting TODAY, 24 January, the 316th Medical Clinic will ONLY be offering Pfizer adult 1st and 2nd doses to Service Members. Pfizer boosters will no longer be available. We will be offering Moderna 1st, 2nd, and booster doses to any Tricare beneficiary 18 years and old. Pfizer Pediatric doses for ages 5-11 will also still be offered. All vaccines will be given in the Immunization clinic at the JBAB Medical Clinic. The schedule for vaccines is as follows:

--Moderna 1st/2nd/booster (ages 18 +)- Mondays & Wednesdays 0730-1130 & 1300-1600 (Appointments encouraged)

--Pfizer Adult 1st/2nd dose (SERVICE MEMBERS ONLY)- Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays 0730-1130 & 1300-1600 (Appointments encouraged)

The drive-thru COVID testing site will open Thursday, Jan. 13 at 11 a.m. outside Bldg. 3620 on Chappie James Blvd. After the holiday weekend, testing will be available at the normal operating hours of Monday-Friday 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Service members, civilians, family members and retirees enrolled with a primary care manager at the JBAB or Joint Base Andrews clinics are permitted to get tested at this additional site.

Due to capacity limitations and significant increase in the demand for COVID-19 testing, the 316 Medical Squadron is prioritizing COVID-19 testing to the categories below:

1. Active duty personnel who are symptomatic, close contact, or require testing for official travel
2. Guard/Reserve on current, active orders
3. Mission essential employees who work on JBAB ( they will require a letter from their leadership stating they are mission essential)
4. Confirmatory PCR test for unvaccinated AD members that tested positive on a routine, self-administered screening test

All other patients are asked to utilize testing facilities in the local community.

COVID-19 testing will continue to be drive-thru, first come, first serve and hours will be from 0730-1530 Monday-Friday.

VACCINE UPDATE | Starting Monday, April 11 the AFMS-Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling Clinic will now offer a second booster dose of either Pfizer-BioNTech or the Moderna vaccines at least four months from the initial booster dose for the following individuals:

1. Individuals who received Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen COVID-19 vaccine for their first shot and booster
2. Adults ages 50 years and older
3. People ages 12 years and older who are moderately or severely immunocompromised

Also starting Monday, Adult Pfizer will be available to all eligible beneficiaries. For more information, visit

NATIONAL DOCTORS DAY | The first Doctors' Day observance was held on March 30, 1933, by the Barrow County Alliance, in Winder, Georgia. The idea of setting aside a day to honor physicians was conceived by Eudora Brown Almond, wife of Dr. Charles B. Almond, and the recognition occurred on the anniversary of the first administration of anesthesia by Dr. Crawford W. Long in Jefferson, Georgia, in 1842.

Nearly 90 years, and many scientific advances, later, we're taking this opportunity to thank the physicians of the AFMS-Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling Clinic
