CDA Council for Professional Recognition

CDA Council for Professional Recognition The Council for Professional Recognition administers the leading national competency-based credential for early childhood educators: The CDA Credential.

The Child Development Associate® (CDA) is the most widely recognized credential in early childhood education (ECE) and is a key stepping stone on the path of career advancement in ECE. The CDA credential is based on a core set of Competency Standards, which guide early care professionals as they work toward becoming qualified teachers of young children. CDAs have knowledge of how to put the CDA Competency Standards into practice and understanding of why those Standards help children move with success from one developmental stage to another. Over 275,000 educators have received their CDAs in Preschool, Infant/Toddler, Family Child Care and Home Visiting to date!

Mission: The Council promotes improved performance and recognition of professionals in early childhood care and education of children ages birth to five years old. The Council works to ensure that all professional early childhood educators and caregivers meet the developmental, emotional and educational needs of our nation’s youngest children.

Congress must act now. Access to child care, or the lack thereof, cuts across almost every sector and business struggling to reopen in a safe and timely manner. And we need to acknowledge the repercussions of failing to address this challenge.

Is anyone else having issues logging in to the CDA website? It wants to keep my co-worker's log in info and defaults to her info when I or other staff attempt to log in. CDA was no help, they just emailed me my log in info as though I had forgotten it. The issue is with their site, not me. Guessing I'll have to contact them during their work hours to hopefully get it straightened out. Not a great first impression of the site.
I strongly urge the Council to refocus their efforts to build the CDA capacity and continue to market the organization and strengthen quality through a better candidate/ PDS portal system and call center support staff that can remedy issues in a timely manner. The system is extremely difficult to work with. Candidates' employment depends on the efficiency of the CDA Council for Professional Recognition. As a PDS, I've been told that simple issues caused by the new system will take up to 8 weeks to fix- prior to the national pandemic's presence in the US and CDC's guidelines on social distancing. This is simply unacceptable for candidates who work so hard to produce quality work, including the price they pay to earn and maintain the credential..... Simply wanting to be able to support candidates in the field and hoping to be recognized here. Please HELP ASAP, for the sake of the candidates.
My CDA expired in 2009, can I renew it?
Para mi la peor experiencia! Casi un mes esperando que arreglen una información que solo ellos pueden arreglar y ya pasó un mes. Cada vez que llamo (a diario) me dicen que debo esperar una semana.
We are still waiting for the appeal process to go through ...although there was nothing written in the actual box b/c It was accidentally submitted it while looking for the appeal process procedures/rules. put on hold time and time again for over an hour. Still trying to find out when we can start the real appeal process.
who do I need to speak with in order to get some answers? I have been on hold for an hour and 20 min.. was connected then put on hold again with no warning?
I was on hold 2 hours Monday, pushed 1 for call back, none. On hold 4 hours yesterday, abruptly disconnected with no contact. Called at 8:04 this morning on hold over an hour. I was told to call back next week. No call back number - just call and hold AGAIN. This is not acceptable customer service. Especially when I am holding for something that is not my fault! Oh... and I am trying to work during all of this.
My fiance Kait Hagelberger has completed all the requirements for a CDA including being observed and taking the exam but you have refused to contact us and now she is about to lose her job because of your certification program. We and her daycare have tried countless times for over a year to contact you and we have been brushed off. We have now been told she will have to retake classes she has passed and lose all her work she has done for this. Why are you allowing this to happen. This is the last day we had an extension and an employee from your company named Katrina yelled at a representative from her daycare on the phone. This is ridiculous and she should not lose everything because of your incompetence.
How long do you have to finish your cda after you do the 120 hours?
The website does not allow me to upload any document allowed , nobody answers the phone to guide me
How can I obtain a copy of my cda credential I received in 2006 and is it expired considering 3 year expiration dates wasn't a thing until 2013?
Siempre que llamo, espero mas de una hora y me cortan, nunca contestan, ya hice mi pago y no me han avisado a mi correo. Todavia sigo esperando.
