Collecting and donating flood supplies is a legacy community service project for attendees of Scouting America National Jamboree, but this year, Scouts are seeing the impact of service in real time after a disastrous storm hit during the Jamboree.

Connecticut and West Virginia National Guardsmen lent a hand loading 2,500 hygiene kits, nearly 2,500 cleaning bucket kits and pallets of excess food donated from the National Jamboree's own supply to transport to impacted communities.

Yesterday, SEA Raines and I visited Cyber Shield 2026 at the Professional Education Center in Arkansas to see how the National Guard is strengthening our Nation’s cyber readiness.

As the Department of War’s largest annual unclassified cyber defense exercise, Cyber Shield brings more than 1,000 participants from 44 states and territories and 23 partner nations to train alongside interagency, industry, academic and Joint Force partners. Together, they are enhancing our ability to defend operational technology and protect critical infrastructure.

Exercises like Cyber Shield ensure our cyber forces remain ready to meet evolving threats and reinforce the National Guard’s vital role in defending our Nation at home and abroad.
