BENS Remembers September 11, 2001

Tomorrow we commemorate the twentieth anniversary of September 11, 2001. See GEN Votel's, USA (ret.) and BG Tom Cosentino's video of remembrance. We will never forget the shock and horror we felt on that morning or the 2,977 men and women whose lives were taken from us. We remember the men and women in our military and intelligence agencies who sacrificed their lives in the wars that followed. We also pause to give thanks to our first responders, and civilians who came forward in acts of heroism, kindness, and charity to step up and do extraordinary things for others. #neverforget https://vimeo.com/601217066

Stanley A. Weiss, a swashbuckling, self-made mining magnate and bon vivant of the old school, who believed his life was saved by the atomic bomb, made a fortune supplying a material that made nuclear weapons possible, and then founded two organizations to ensure nuclear weapons were never used again, has passed away at the age of 94. Weiss lived an improbable American life and launched a new era of public-private cooperation on national security issues. His legacy continues to inspire. https://www.bens.org/saweiss_tribute

Thanks to CARE and former defense leaders--including our own General Joseph Votel--who are encouraging vaccination to fight COVID-19. Vaccination is safe, effective, and a crucial step for ending the public health crisis.
