Upper Georgia Avenue Main Street is raising money for a holiday decorating campaign along Georgia Avenue. This year, a company will come out and professionally decorate businesses along the Upper Georgia Avenue corridor - from Missouri Ave up to Eastern Ave - to make Georgia avenue SPARKLE for the holiday season.

The Main Street is paying for professional decorations for multiple businesses on the corridor, but through small dollar donations like yours and volunteer power, we can add holiday touches to MANY more businesses in our neighborhoods.

TWENTY businesses applied for this grant and you can help reach even more of them!

Every dollar helps:
$25 gets "window snow" for one small business on Georgia Ave NW
$50 buys a holiday window stencil
$75 gets a big a red bow for business doors
$100 gets an ad to promote the holiday decorating program for one business
$300 gets us a 36 inch lighted wreath
$400 gets us 10 feet of lighted garland

Help UGAMS spread the holiday cheer this season!

🙏THANK YOU do all of the donors so far who helped UGAMS raise over *$500 ❄️🌲🎁

WEBINAR: 3 Reasons Why Your Board Doesn’t Fundraise and How to Fix That

October 27 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm

For many boards fundraising is truly an “f” word—and not in a good way. Yet, it is inherent in a board’s governance duty to ensure that their organization is financially sustainable and has access to funding. Fundraising is probably one of –if not THE–biggest priorities of any nonprofit yet it is the #1 cause of complaint by both CEOs and Boards.

In BoardSource’s 2017 Leading With Intent report, CEOs gave their boards a C for fundraising compared to A’s and B’s for internally-focused responsibilities like understanding of the mission, fiduciary duties of financial and legal/ethical oversight.

Does this sound familiar? Learn the three top reasons why board members don’t fundraise and how to change their mindsets. Learning objectives we will cover:
1. How to identify the right board composition for your organization
2. Key ways to use a board orientation to empower board members for fundraising success
3. Ideas on creating a fundraising menu of activities and commitments that are right-sized for each board member

Join Barbara O’Reilly, CFRE, Principal of Windmill Hill Consulting, to learn the key steps you need to have in place to build your team of volunteer leaders; to train them and manage their expectations for success; and to determine the roles every Board member can—and should—play in creating a strong culture of giving within your organization.
