** Tues-Fri Overview: 1) Almost guaranteed dry...2) Breezy/windy today and Wed. but lighter winds Thanksgiving...3) Temperatures very mild Today+Friday, but chillier Wed-Thurs **
TUES-FRI SUMMARY (the SHORT version):
The number one thing we need to emphasize is that there should be almost ZERO ISSUES with Thanksgiving-related travel, both within, and even all that near our coverage area. For one thing, our local forecast is almost guaranteed dry through at least Friday. About the only item of possible concern, and even then mainly just affecting higher-profile vehicles, will be fairly breezy to somewhat windy conditions both today and Wednesday, particularly during the afternoon hours. Temperature-wise, these next four days will admittedly feature a bit of a roller-coaster, with both today and Friday quite mild by late-November standards, while chillier conditions are in the offing for Wednesday and Thanksgiving Day, but even then not overly-cold for this time of year either.
MORE TUES-FRI DAILY DETAILS...
TODAY (Tuesday):
It will be quite warm for Nov. 23, with afternoon highs reaching 65-70 degrees under plentiful sunshine. Unfortunately, these warm readings will come at the price of breezy southerly winds, especially this afternoon, when gusts as high as 25-35 MPH will be common. Not surprisingly, the combination of warm and windy conditions will promote near-critical to potentially critical fire weather conditions within the area, with the overall-highest fire danger focusing within several local counties mainly west of the Highway 281 corridor, where a Red Flag Warning will be in effect this afternoon.
WEDNESDAY:
This will probably be the overall least-pleasant day of the week to most folks. For one thing, it will be at least 10-20 degrees cooler than today, with highs only topping out between 45-55 degrees under quite a bit of cloud cover. Furthermore, all areas will experience another round of breezy to windy conditions, as a cold front drives gusts into the 25-35 MPH range, but this time out of the north-northwest.
THURSDAY (Thanksgiving):
Although this will technically be the coldest day of the week temperature-wise with highs only between the upper 30s and upper 40s, it should actually feel better outside than Wednesday, thanks to lighter winds and more sunshine.
FRIDAY:
Get ready for another big jump in temperatures, with highs bouncing back up to between the upper 50s-mid 60s! It will probably be a little breezier than Thursday, but not as much as today and Wednesday will be.
