I adore this book. It's the perfect testimony of what you can achieve through determination and hard work. In addition to Edith's life being awe-inspiring, the illustrations are magnificent. Each page is bursting with imaginative scenes, soft colors, and bountiful textures.

Like many bookstagrammers, I love gifting books during the holiday season. One of my favorite traditions is unwrapping a new book with the kids each night leading up to Christmas. This year, we have changed it up a bit and read 𝗪𝗵𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗔𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝟭𝟬 𝗕𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 for the first ten days of December.

The Bible stories in Whistlestop Tales illustrate how God works through people to accomplish greatness. What I love most is that each story exemplifies the diversity within the Bible by providing a window into the modern-day countries and their cultures where the stories took place. It was such a fun and unique way to introduce our kids to new places. Each story is accompanied by fun illustrations and written with an age-appropriate narrative. These action-packed stories will surely encourage your little ones to live their own unique adventures with God.

🚨𝙿𝚊𝚛𝚔𝚜𝚒𝚍𝚎𝚁𝚎𝚊𝚍𝚜 𝚁𝚎𝚊𝚍𝚜 𝙼𝚘𝚟𝚎𝚍🚨

Well… Sort of.

My family and I are moving, but we are leaving my little free library to continue to serving our neighborhood. The new owners are excited to take the reins.

But I’m not giving up steward life! We are getting a new little free library ready to open at our new home!

I’ve been a little absent from Insta as I have been working on moving my family, but will be back to regular sharing soon and have lots of new books to share here and in our new Little Free Library.

It's no secret, I love middle-grade books. Reading books for younger readers reminds me what it's like to be a kid, and in turn makes me a better parent.

If you have a middle-grade reader, or you want to venture back to middle school for a day (gulp) I highly recommend checking out this magical new series by Sarah Mlynowski, author of the Whatever After series.

in the first book, 𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗪𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝘀, Becca is having the worst day ever. Her best friend has dumped her and now she is totally friendless. Then a mysterious box arrives in the mail, and Becca's life is turned upside down when it's contents grant her a wish and suddenly EVERYONE wants to be he BFF. As things quickly spin out of control, Becca wonders if this wish was really a curse.

Using personal anecdotes & the stories of nine bad ass ladies of the Bible, Grace Valentine empowers women to not bend to peer pressure or people please, but instead turn their focus on God.

We need more Christian books that empower women. For so long Christian woman have been placed in a box and told how to think, feel, and be. Like the biblical women Grace showcases in her book, Christian women can smash that box into smithereens, take control of their story, and even be a hot mess and STILL be exactify what God intended.

My full review will be up on GoodReads in a few days, but overall I enjoyed this book and think it would resonate best with twenty something Christian women.

Today I am excited to share Appleseed by Matt Bell with everyone. This book has the perfect combination of fantasy, science fiction, historical fiction, and dystopian elements. Appleseed would be a great pick for book clubs too, as there are so many discussion points.

In eighteenth-century Ohio, two brothers venture into the wooded frontier, planting apple orchards from which they plan to profit in the years to come. As they remake the wilderness in their own image, planning for a future of settlement and civilization, the long-held bonds and secrets between the two will be tested, fractured and broken, & possibly healed.

Fifty years from now, in the second half of the twenty-first century, climate change has ravaged the Earth. Having
invested early in genetic engineering and food science, one company now owns all the world's resources. But a growing resistance is working to redistribute both land and power and in a pivotal moment for the future of humanity, one of the company's original founders will return, intending to destroy what he helped build.

A thousand years in the future, North America is covered by a massive sheet of ice. 🦄 Caution! Reading this at bedtime will result in everyone staying up late! When I read bedtime stories to my oldest, he flops around the bed like a fish out of water and he falls asleep quickly. When we started Saving the King, he was as still as a statue. Thinking he’d fallen asleep I’d stop reading, seconds later he’d say “can you keep reading”, and this would happen chapter, after chapter, after chapter. He wouldn’t fall asleep… He wouldn’t move… He just laid there and listened. Needless to say, he was captivated.

🦄 We are so thankful gifted this book to our Little Free Library. It is full of heart, adventure, and bravery. I read it with my 5-year-old and my nephew (10) read it to his little sister (7) and everyone had so much fun. These magical adventures will remind kids that with teamwork, perseverance, and kindness anything is possible.

I recommend this to 5 to 8 year old readers and those that read to this age group. Barb and her story will foster a spark of optimism in every reader.

We also loved the illustrations, Barb is adorable.

This beautiful picture book affirms children and fills them with love of a parent and God’s grace. It reminds them that they are perfectly loved just the way they are.

The illustrations are saturated in warm hews and have a playful loving vibe. Coupled with diversity in both the characters and family relationships, this religious based book is well versed for any Christian family looking to build love and self-acceptance through literature.

It's a bit on the longer side for the targeted age group (4 - 8) so I'd recommend reading it to your littles during quiet time. I’ve found it’s been great for snuggle time reflection when they are calm and settled down. I have a 5.5 and 3.25 year old.
