Happy Giving Tuesday!
For over 25 years, Georgia Avenue Family Support Collaborative (GAFSC) has successfully served the public good with a mission-driven purpose and a strong set of core values, providing essential family-centered social services, community-based case management, prevention programming, and community development. Over the many years, we have often stepped in to fill gaps not covered by the government or the for-profit sector.
In 2025, GAFSC achieved a major milestone! We successfully opened the Brightwood Family Success Center (BFSC) and became the only organization operating a Family Success Center in Ward 4. BFSC is there for all Ward 4 residents during times of crisis and when daily well-being assistance is needed. We provide concrete services, help, and resources such as service navigation to secure needed resources, youth programming, food and clothing distributions, an on-site computer lab, employment assistance, and other supports families rely on every day.
During our Giving Tuesday fundraising drive, we are honored to share “Expressions of Gratitude” from individuals and families we’ve helped through the Georgia Avenue Family Support Collaborative (GAFSC). As the holiday season continues, families’ needs are often even greater, as financial concerns and other daily living stressors increase for many. At GAFSC, we know that even when people tell you they are fine, they may still be suffering in silence. Our goal is simply TO BE THERE!
