🛑 Stop Government Impersonators. 🛑

If you receive a communication that appears to be from the SEC, do not provide any information until you have verified it's not from an impersonator.

If you are contacted by someone claiming to be from the SEC, call the person using the SEC’s personnel locator at (202) 551-6000 to confirm the communication is authentic.

Part of planning for retirement is learning how to protect your hard-earned money. Here are some tips to help you keep your investments safe:

1) Do background checks at Investor.gov on your investment professionals and firms to confirm they are currently licensed or registered – and verify that they’re not an imposter!

2) Assign a trusted contact – someone to be a backup contact in case you can’t be reached, are sick, or are suffering from diminished capacity.

3) Resist FOMO – the fear of missing out. Don’t rush into an investment opportunity just because everyone else is. Take your time and do your research.

4) Always use strong passwords, minimize personal information you make available online, and check your privacy settings on your accounts.
