Tajik TechWomen Delegation
On October 18th, the Embassy of Tajikistan in Washington, D.C. welcomed a group of Tajik professionals participating in the prestigious TechWomen program, an initiative of the U.S. Department of State. The delegation, comprised of four talented Tajik citizens—Yuliya Mamedova, Shohina Pochojonova, Sakina Mamadshoeva, and Sabzina Otambekova—visited the Embassy to present their project, "TECH4TEENS: Building a Digital Future for Rural Tajikistan."
Having recently completed an intensive four-week mentorship in California’s Silicon Valley, the team outlined their initiative, which aims to bridge the digital literacy gap among teenagers in rural communities of Tajikistan. The project seeks to empower these communities by providing essential training in modern technology, offering new opportunities for growth, innovation, and economic progress.
Embassy staff expressed appreciation for the team's efforts and vision, emphasizing the importance of initiatives that promote youth development and digital transformation in Tajikistan.
We wish the TechWomen delegation great success in their mission and look forward to their continued contributions toward the digital advancement of rural Tajikistan!
