FCC Takes on Mortgage Scam Robocall Campaign Targeting Homeowners

Robocalls are not only a nuisance but can lead to scams especially when the victim is pressured by fraudsters who target vulnerable individuals or those experiencing financial distress. The FCC’s Robocall Response Team today took decisive actions to shut down an apparent homeowner-focused robocall scam campaign.

The Enforcement Bureau ordered telecom companies to effectively mitigate suspected illegal traffic from PhoneBurner facilitating apparently illegal robocall traffic from MV Realty and demanded that Twilio cease and desist carrying the traffic.

There use to be a rule where news programs were required to give both sides of whatever issue was being discussed. Would you please bring that rule back! I believe when the FCC got rid of this rule it allowed Cable networks like FOX & MSNBC to tell only one side of the story which is one of the reasons our country is so divided. People who only watch FOX or MSNBC are only getting one sides version. This in my opinion is the problem. One or the other stirs anger in their audience. I don't think people understand that this is about money. When these networks stir people up their viewership increases creating more advertising dollars. People like Hannity and the Morning Joe crew on MSNBC are making a fortune by stirring up all this anger. I don't believe they care as much about our country as they do the almighty dollar. This is just my opinion folks. Don't kill the messenger with your angry replies.

Could the FCC create a distinction between news outlets and news entertainment outlets? If it's not the FCC's decision, then whose is it? TY!
I wish the FCC would go after the hundreds of ads targeting senior citizens, where the print size is deliberately so small as to not be legible. They know the ads are for okd people, many or most of whom are sight impaired, and yet the ad conpanies make the font so small that the old person has no idea what it says. This is by design, and it's taking advantage of the elderly.

I have a 57" TV... and yet despite all the room on the page, they make the print so small that I can't read it? That's tantamount to abuse, and it's uncalled for!
