1st grade Poetry Slam
After studying the sun, moon, and stars, today 1st graders hosted a Poetry Slam to share their original poems based on their learning. Watch 1st grader Zander sign his poem so his mom could also understand his beautiful words.
Congrats to all of our 1st grade poets for their bravery and high-quality work! And, shout out to our amazing teachers for organizing Celebrations of Learning like this for our students and families!

Acknowledgment is a simple, powerful way of showing respect and a step toward correcting the stories and practices that erase Indigenous people’s history and culture and toward inviting and honoring the truth.
