CHANGE OF LOCATION: Discovering Me Summit and Awards Ceremony

https://www.estherproductionsinc.com/events-1/the-discovery-summit-and-scholarship-awards-ceremony

Dec 10, 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM EST The Woman's National Democratic Club, 1526 New Hampshire Ave. NW
About the event
Each year since 2019, Esther Productions Inc. has presented a unique scholarship essay contest that invites young ladies aged 13 through 18 to submit essays that tell their stories about growing up without their fathers and building their resilience as they face that challenge. A group of accomplished artists, educators, clinicians, business and civic leaders serve as judges. Cash prizes, ranging from $1500 to $500, are given to the top winners during the Discovery Summit and Scholarship Awards Ceremony.

This year, the event is presented in cooperation with The Black Student Fund. Anita Josey-Herring, chief judge of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia, will provide remarks and present awards to the top scholarship winners and honorable mentions. The summit will include mini-workshop presentations by television actor Addison Switzer, self-care guru Jennifer Okosun and therapist Dr. Tracie Robinson; they will focus on providing greater understanding of the impact of father absence while developing resilience and personal power.
Thank you Dupont Circle Citizens Association for 100 years of service to the Dupont community & for having me at your annual meeting. I was thrilled to introduce the Centennial Anniversary Recognition Resolution of 2022 which the Council passed unanimously. Congratulations!

Had a great time talking with residents from the Dupont Circle Citizens Association tonight about our Ward 2 budget priorities, tomorrow’s legislative meeting, vaccines & reopening, and neighborhood concerns. Until next time!
I rallied for DC statehood the morning of Monday March 22, 2021 at Dupont Circle in Washington, DC.

This is personal for me. I’m an identical twin. My twin has 2 Senators and several Representatives from PA in Congress, but I don’t have any Senator or Representative in Congress because I am a DC resident. We both pay taxes, have worked, have community values and are great Americans.

We were born in Puerto Rico, another US location that doesn’t have representation in US Congress.

Correct this wrong!! DC Statehood NOW!
Be sure to register for this week's Dupont Circle Citizens Association conversation with our CEO Schroeder Stribling!
Thank you Dupont Circle Citizens Association for allowing N Street Village to join this powerful conversation on supportive housing with peer leaders from across DC. We look forward to participating in the upcoming conversation on women experiencing homelessness on March 25.

At Glen’s, we grow small businesses along with our own. That's why we've decided to REINVEST in the remarkable Ashleigh Pearson of Petite Soeur. This season's AccelerateHERdc grant, supported by the Dupont Circle Citizens Association, will help Ashleigh secure her own production and retail location! Come check out Ashleigh’s exquisite confections, along with all of the other lady-led food businesses launched at Glen’s!
Congratulations to all of the bright, female founders, who applied to AccelerateHERdc! This season’s grant is graciously supported by the Dupont Circle Citizens Association. Stay tuned, Neighbors, the winner will be announced next week!
Neighbors,
I have been asked to post this information on Facebook. There is a NW DC company selling custom designed and durable cloth protective face masks, in strict accordance with the CDC guidelines. See: www.cov19protectivemask.com
Full Disclosure: I have been helping the company during my free time while working from home but I have not been compensated for my time. A portion of the profits will go to a local hospital. And a number of the face masks will be donated to a local grocery store.
Stay Safe!

DC Council Chairman Phil Mendelson would like to invite the Dupont Circle Community to his monthly Meet Up with Mendo. Join him at Teaism Penn Quarter this Saturday from 10am - 11am to discuss anything and everything happening in the District and Ward 2!
