Congratulations to the graduates and over 1,000 colleges and institutions with TRIO programs that produced those graduates! All TRIO programs and alumni associations should remind graduating seniors to register for the National TRIO Alumni Association during close-out meetings. This helps us keep track of their academic and professional journeys. Have them register here:

Anoche tuve el honor de recibir el premio de TRIO Triunfador 2022. Extremadamente agradecido por este premio otorgado por la Asociación Caribeña de Programas de Oportunidades Educativas que reconoció mi trayectoria académica, profesional, y científica en inmunología del cáncer.
Sin nunca olvidar mis raíces desde Fajardo, PR, hoy le agradezco a toda mi familia, amistades, mentores(as), y colegas por todo su apoyo. Esto no hubiera sido posible sin ustedes.

hello
Hello National TRIO Alumni!
I am currently working on final research for the dissertation in my EdD program. I am a proud Upward Bound alumnae and have focused my research on increasing the general body of knowledge in regard to information available on what works for low-income, first-generation students.
The goal of this research is to develop a set of best practices for postsecondary students who may identify as low-income and/or first-generation that increases GPA, retention, and graduation as well as a theory in support of these practices.
However, to do this I need a robust set of qualitative data and I need your help! If you were a low-income, first-generation student or think some of your program’s alumni would be willing to participate, I encourage you to use the link below.

Participation is entirely voluntary and no compensation, other than my gratitude, will be provided.
If you would like to participate, please complete the survey no later than end of day on Friday, October 22nd.

Dear School TRIO Family,
San Diego State University’s Afrikan Student Union (ASU) would like to invite your 9th-12th grade students, who identify with the Black/African diaspora, to attend the 46th Annual ASU Virtual High School Conference on Friday, February 26, 2021, from 10:00 am-12:30 pm. Our conference theme is ”If not NOW: Then When?.” The conference will include motivational speakers, career exploration, interactive cultural activities, and college preparation workshops, emphasizing college options, leadership opportunities, cultural identity, civic engagement, and how to navigate college successfully.
Our conference will help high school students learn how to take advantage of learning and professional resources to increase the overall college matriculation and completion rate for targeted students. The conference theme, “If not Now: Then When?” focuses on students using higher education to find their voices and passions, as well as, helping them succeed in becoming community leaders and trailblazers.
Before the annual conference, we will have a variety of engaging speakers for the students throughout February. Please see the flyers attached and information on how to register for those events.
This year's virtual conference will feature keynote speaker Keyon Harrold Jr.
Keyon Harrold Jr. is 14-years old from New York, NY. He is currently a high school freshman. He is a young musician, composer, and producer that plays the drum and bass. He has performed in places worldwide, and he played with the Yankee legend, Bernie Williams. He is an activist and scholar. He is a part of an arts program called “Young at Arts.” He loves involving himself within the community by serving others. One of the main projects he works on is called "Breakfast Runs" for the homeless with his local church. He makes "Breakfast Runs" to give out food and clothes to the homeless around New York City. He is highly involved with his local church. Keyon is a unique, amazing, and thoughtful kid who makes an impact wherever he goes. He is looking forward to doing more as an artist and activist.
Keyon's life was changed forever in a New York City hotel on December 26, 2020. He was attacked and wrongfully accused of stealing a cellphone by a white female. He is a genuine and amazing soul who vows to find the silver lining in all of the adverse circumstances that life presents.
