Ārlietu ministrija un Centrālā vēlēšanu komisija aicina Latvijas pilsoņus, kuri 2026. gada 3. oktobrī, 15. Saeimas vēlēšanu dienā, būs ārpus Latvijas, balsot kādā no vēlēšanu iecirkņiem ārvalstīs.

Vēlētājiem ASV būs iespēja nobalsot kādā no klātienes vēlēšanu iecirkņiem (iecirkņu saraksts pieejams iecirkni.cvk.lv) vai pieteikties balsošanai pa pastu.

🗳️ Balsošana vēlēšanu iecirknī
👉 Vēlēšanu dienā no plkst. 8.00 līdz 20.00 pēc vietējā laika;
👉 Balsošanai nepieciešama derīga Latvijas pilsoņa pase vai eID karte;
👉 Vēlētāju uzskaitei tiks izmantots elektronisks tiešsaistes vēlētāju reģistrs, tādēļ dalība vēlēšanās pasē vairs netiks atzīmēta ar spiedogu.

📮 Ja vēlaties balsot pa pastu no ārvalstīm, piesakieties pasta balsošanai laikā no 29. augusta līdz 25. septembrim vietnē latvija.gov.lv e-pakalpojumā “Vēlētāja datu pārvaldība”.

Today in Washington, D.C., together with the Embassies of Lithuania and Estonia, the U.S. Department of State, the Joint Baltic American National Committee, the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation, Razom for Ukraine, and members of the Baltic diaspora communities, we commemorated the 37th anniversary of the Baltic Way 🇱🇻🇱🇹🇪🇪

On August 23, 1989, to protest 50 years since the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact and the Soviet occupation, approximately 2 million Latvians, Estonians and Lithuanians joined hands in a human chain — called the Baltic Way — that stretched almost 400 miles from Tallinn, through Riga, to Vilnius.

🇱🇻🇪🇪🇱🇹 – a human chain of 2 million people stretching from Tallinn, through Riga, to Vilnius. This non-violent protest on 23 August 1989 captured the world's attention as the three Baltic nations clearly expressed their will for freedom and independence, and declared that the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact, signed exactly 50 years earlier, was a crime committed by totalitarian regimes.

Hand in hand, shoulder to shoulder, we remain united to this day through our actions, our thoughts, and our unwavering support for Ukraine.

Izsludināta Latvijas Republikas Ārlietu ministrijas 2026. gada Diasporas atbalsta projektu konkursa 2. kārta!

📌 Diasporas organizāciju atbalsta projektu konkursa pieteikumu iesniegšanas datums Latvijas 🇱🇻 vēstniecībā ASV 🇺🇸 ir 10. septembris.

📌 Projektu pieteikumi jāiesūta elektroniski Latvijas vēstniecībai ASV uz e-pasta adresi: [email protected].

📌 Projektu īstenošanas laiks: no 2026. gada 20. oktobra līdz 2027. gada 31. martam.

, 35 years ago, Latvia 🇱🇻 restored its de facto independence, firmly re-establishing its place among democratic nations and the European family.

On 21 August 1991, the Supreme Council adopted the Constitutional Law on the Statehood of the Republic of Latvia, while Soviet military pressure was mounting and an attack on the Parliament building was expected at any moment.

Latvia shares a special bond with Iceland 🇮🇸, the first UN 🇺🇳 member state to recognise our independence the very next day, on 22 August. A week later, on 29 August, the Swedish 🇸🇪 Embassy became the first foreign embassy to reopen in Riga. By the end of 1991, Latvia had been recognised by 93 countries.

As then, so today and in the future, the Latvian Foreign Service continues to strengthen and broaden our international ties.

🎉 Meet Raimonds Vingris - Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of Latvia.

🇱🇻 Raimonds is a career diplomat with an extensive experience in international relations with a specific focus on security policy.

📣 He served as Deputy Head of Mission at EU Delegation to the Kyrgyz Republic, and as Political Advisor to the EU Special Representative for Central Asia. He has also served as 🇱🇻 expert to the NATO Liaison Office for Central Asia in Tashkent, where he worked in support of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Afghanistan.

🤝 He has also previously served at the 🇱🇻 Embassy in Georgia 🇬🇪 and 🇱🇻 Embassy in Uzbekistan 🇺🇿.

👏 We are pleased to welcome Raimonds Vingris to our team and wish him the best in strengthening bilateral relations between Latvia 🇱🇻 and the U.S. 🇺🇸!

🎉 Meet Kaspars Svilāns - the new Representative of the Parliament of Latvia (Latvijas Republikas Saeima) to the United States 🇺🇸 and the Congressional Liaison Officer at the Embassy of Latvia.

👨 Kaspars is a career diplomat with an extensive experience in international relations, with a particular focus on security policy and parliamentary diplomacy.

🏛️ He served as Foreign Affairs Advisor to the Presidium of the Parliament of Latvia from 2022 to 2026, as well as the Head of Americas and Caribbean Division at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

✈️ He has also previously served at the 🇱🇻 Permanent Representation at NATO in Brussels and 🇱🇻 Embassy in Moscow.

👏 We are pleased to welcome Kaspars Svilāns to our team and wish him the best in strengthening the parliamentary relations between Latvia 🇱🇻 and the U.S. 🇺🇸!

🇱🇻 Jānis Beķeris, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of Latvia, completed his posting in Washington, DC, this summer.

📣 Over these four years Jānis has been an inspiration and a leader for everyone at the Embassy. He has managed countless high-level visits, including, the President of Latvia, the Prime Minister of Latvia, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Latvia.

🙏 While his work was often intense, Jānis always remembered to also engage with everyone on a very human level. He shared his love of Latvian culture by visiting many diaspora communities and events, and by sharing his love of music, that resulted in the exceptional performance of the Embassy's own musical group last Christmas, as well as the success of bringing Latvian rock'n'roll icons "Big Al & The Jokers" to the U.S. as a special gift for America's Semiquincentennial.

👏 We thank Jānis for his exemplary service to the Embassy of Latvia! His energy, focus and commitment towards bettering our bilateral relationship with the U.S. has been an invaluable contribution. We wish Jānis all the best in his next adventure at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia.

🤝 This summer we are saying goodbye and thank you to Svetlana Daukante, Head of Consular Section at the Embassy of Latvia.

During her three years in the U.S. 🇺🇸, Svetlana has been responsible for the successful work of the Embassy's consular affairs, including informing diaspora of recent policy decisions made by the Latvian government.

📣 Svetlana has been an integral member of Embassy's team, and has always volunteered to promote Latvian culture. Svetlana has shared her love and passion for Latvian national dress, including in participating in various events hosted by the Embassy. Svetlana's positive energy and enthusiasm have made her an inspiration for everyone around her.

​👏 We wish Svetlana all the best in her new role advancing Latvia's 🇱🇻 economic interests at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia in Riga, Latvia.
