The Transatlantic Dialogue Program based in Washington, DC, fosters political dialogue among political, business, scientific and cultural elites from North America and Europe. The transatlantic partnership is first and foremost a partnership of values. It is a major pillar for the security and stability of Western democracies. Only together we can make a worldwide contribution to social and econom

ic progress. The various activities of the Transatlantic Dialogue Program seek to achieve higher degrees of mutual understanding and to facilitate the transfer of experiences for solving political problems. Experts from non-governmental organizations are involved as much as representatives from international umbrella associations and think tanks.

“Without sacrificing its core goals, the administration could really limit the impact on some of the world’s poorest and most vulnerable people. We’re hoping to bring attention to that.” 🌎🌍🌏

Ed Gresser is the Vice President and Director for Trade and Global Markets at the Progressive Policy Institute in Washington, D.C. In the paper ‘Trade and the World’s Poor’ he highlights the effects a high-tariff regime has on less and least developed countries and explores avenues how to mitigate the most severe burdens on their economies.

🇺🇸 Happy Independence Day! 🇺🇸

As the United States commemorates 250 years since the Declaration of Independence, we celebrate the enduring ideals of individual liberty, democratic governance, and open societies.

This milestone is an opportunity to reflect on the importance of protecting freedom, strengthening democratic institutions, and fostering transatlantic cooperation in an increasingly complex world.

We extend our warm wishes to our American friends, partners, and colleagues on this historic Fourth of July.

Happy Canada Day! 🇨🇦

As Prime Minister Mark Carney has put it, “In a more divided and dangerous world, Canadians are uniting. Together, we will build one Canadian economy - connected by major projects, powered by Canadian energy, transformed by Canadian technology, and by Canadian workers.”

Wishing everyone across Canada a joyful and memorable July 1st.

At this year’s Alumni Conference, we had the opportunity to speak with Marina Kienast, legislator in the City of Buenos Aires with La Libertad Avanza about Argentina’s efforts to liberalize its economy and strengthen the rule of law. 🇦🇷🫱🏻‍🫲🏽

In our conversation, Marina expressed her excitement about Argentina’s new strategic outlook, empowering local business and initiatives while reducing reliance on the state.

The conference brought together 30 policymakers and experts from across our global network to exchange ideas, tackle today’s most pressing challenges, and develop solutions for a freer, fairer, and more prosperous future. 🌎🌏🌍
