Raben Building lasting relationships centered around shared values & a collective vision for a better world

At Raben, our work isn’t simply transactional; we are driven to build lasting relationships centered around shared values and a collective vision for a better world. We lead by example, going above and beyond to support our clients' goals. Our work to change cultural narratives, build coalitions, and fill unmet needs in society is helping to shift the faces of power and influence in America. We’ve chosen client services as the manner through which we pursue our vision for a more equitable, just and fair America, because we’ve found this platform to be an effective means to engage the levers of power in our society — government, business, nonprofits, and philanthropy. While we take our work seriously, we are not your average stuffy "suits." Behind our game-changing initiatives and groundbreaking campaigns, lies a team with a wicked sense of humor. While dropping truth bombs can quickly move the needle, we’ve also seen how a well-timed punchline can effectively break down barriers and keep us kind. It’s this balance of hard work, humor, and humanity that helps us to find common ground among people who think they disagree, and change the way that power is distributed in leadership, government, and business.

Eight days. Six events. One unfinished story.

Congratulations to our friends at March on Washington Film Festival on wrapping up the 2026 festival, “250 Years of American Democracy: The Unfinished Story.”

Through screenings, music, and conversation, the festival brought people together to reflect on our history and the work ahead.

Our founder and CEO, Robert Raben, joined as a moderator for a conversation on meaningful allyship with immigrant communities.

Take a look at a few moments from the festival and join us in celebrating everyone who made it possible.

This National Book Month, we’re proud to spotlight our client Kamau Bobb and his new book, The Bullwhip’s Algorithm: Artificial Intelligence and America’s Racial Caste System.

Part warning, part history, and part call to action, the book argues that the future of education can’t be separated from our nation’s unfinished struggle for racial justice.

Join Bobb on November 2 at Busboys and Poets’ 14th and V streets location in DC for an intimate conversation about the book.

Senior Advisor Spotlight: Gara LaMarche.

With four decades of experience in human rights and philanthropy, Gara knows the ups and downs of working for social change. At Raben, he helps organizations navigate those challenges, with a particular focus on governance and how boards fulfill their responsibilities.

His take on what organizations are overlooking right now: board accountability. And his challenge to leaders: “Are we living our values in our program, our culture, or our funding practices?”

How much effort does it take to win someone's vote? In some cases, it begins with knocking on the door.

In her most recent Substack post, Allison Glass takes us from her then-72-year-old father's front yard to the border areas of El Paso and the Rio Grande Valley, reflecting on how Latino voters' political influence is changing and what it means for the future of American democracy. She encourages us to look beyond the news reports. She stresses that we should win the Latino vote, not take it for granted, by actively listening to people, being present, and taking families' everyday concerns seriously.
You can read her full reflections titled, "The Latino Vote Is Changing. Are We Paying Attention?" on Substack.

This Hispanic Heritage Month, a few of our Raben colleagues shared what their heritage means to them: the traditions, values, food, family and stories that shape who they are and how they show up in their work and communities.

Thank you for sharing a little of yourselves with us and helping us get to know the people behind our work. 🧡

Congratulations to Asylum Seeker Advocacy Project (ASAP) Co-Executive Directors Conchita Cruz and Swapna Reddy on being named to the 2026 TIME100 Next list! 🧡

We’re proud to support ASAP’s work alongside immigrant communities, from defending birthright citizenship to helping asylum seekers navigate changes in the U.S. asylum system.

Conchita and Swapna, this recognition is well deserved, and we’re glad to celebrate it with you!
