The Friends of the 11th and Monroe Park is a volunteer, subordinate group of the non-profit 501c3 organization District of Columbia Green Spaces Alliance, Inc. The Friends of the 11th and Monroe Park mission is to foster a safe gathering place for residents of all ages and to be a valued community resource that promotes programs and activities of interest to children and adults in collaboration wi

th the DC Department of Parks and Recreation. Working as a liaison between residents and organizations using the park, the Friends of the 11th and Monroe Park will help maintain and improve the park grounds, host events and undertake projects. The Friends of the 11th and Monroe Park group meets every 2nd Saturday of the month at 11:00 a.m.

Come to the Civic Plaza from 3-9pm for kids' programming and fun family-friendly activities!

-From 3-9pm, support your neighborhood by eating a refreshing treat at FrozenYo! 15% of your frozen yogurt or sorbet purchase will go towards District Bridges' work in the Civic Plaza and our work to support local businesses in Columbia Heights.

-3-5:30pm: Kids' activities and giveaways for school children. Also during this time, bring donations for our school supply drive to support our neighborhood students!

-5:30pm-6:30pm: Community clean-up in the Civic Plaza and surrounding streets. We will have gloves and trash grabbers for you, just bring yourself!

-7:15-8:15pm: Salsa on the Plaza with Luis Arduz from Salsa with Silvia. Come move to the music!
