"Transgender people who do have health insurance still face substantial problems: One in four who tried to get coverage for hormone therapy said they were denied—and over half of those who sought surgical coverage were also turned down."

Suicide of Popular CHS Grad Sam Price Sparks Transgender Youth Foundation - The Village Green

Reading of another recent death while working on my conference paper on 'Toxic Environments and Transgender Suicide' while enrolling my children in a new school system just continually takes the wind out of me. I have very little patience on the criminal negligence of certain parents and administrators on whom legal recourse will steadily press closer. In response to "the Transgender Tipping Point" politicians are working hard to make sure that conditions tip towards further alienation and death - as the number of homicides of trans people increase and suicide stays steady. It isn't and won't be the politicians who will see our faces, come to know our names, and be held to account - it is you. The next move is yours.

Sam is the beloved daughter of Beth Dorogusker Price and Adam Price and sister of Jonah. A family friend described Sam, a tran…
