Helping Military & Veterans - FFP

FFP is proud of the work we do to help service members and veterans achieve financial stability. THANK YOU to the millions of American veterans for your service to our country! And thank you to the many advisors who have volunteered their time and expertise to support them. Learn more about our work with military and veterans here: https://foundationforfinancialplanning.org/our-work/national-programs/military-veterans/

Like most Americans, many service members do not receive comprehensive personal financial education in school. Compounding this, active members and veterans of the armed services often face substantial and unique financial challenges.

Commonwealth Financial Network

This program exists thanks to the support of Presenting Sponsor Commonwealth Financial Network and the dozens of other companies and individuals that have contributed to our Pro Bono for Cancer effort. Thank you! #ProBono4Cancer

The Financial Planning for Cancer program, a collaborative effort between the Foundation for Financial Planning (FFP) and the nonprofit Family Reach, provides financial planning assistance to those battling cancer. Through this program, individuals and families affected by cancer are paired with a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) volunteer to combat their risk of “financial toxicity.” Commonwealth is proud to sponsor the work of the FFP and its Pro Bono for Cancer effort, and we’re pleased to share this inspiring video that shows the impact that advisor and volunteer Craig Cohn is making in the lives of one local Massachusetts couple. Thank you, Craig, for your passion and commitment to helping those in need.

Let us introduce our new grantee Cambridge Women's Center! They’re empowering female survivors of abuse and other traumas to take control of their finances.

The Cambridge Women's Center Financial Literacy Program was developed in response to an acute need for money management skills among the women they serve in Greater Boston. Many of the women they’ve worked with have expressed fear and lack of knowledge about managing their money. With this program, Boston-based CFP® professionals will be able to provide pro bono financial planning, enabling these women to become more stable and secure during these trying times.

Today FFP spotlights United Policyholders, 1 of our 17 grantees in 2019! After an urban wildfire destroyed thousands of homes in northern California, residents found themselves struggling with unexpected gaps in their insurance coverage and an often-adversarial claims process. UP was formed in 1991 to help level the playing field between insurers and policyholders. Now, through support from the Foundation, UP is expanding on this mission to bring one-on-one financial planning assistance to families impacted by natural disasters.
