The fire service has many traditions. Tonight we at 23 Hose Co. Platoon # 3 were honored to take part in one of those traditions. When a member is promoted, they often prepare a dinner to thank those who helped them study, motivate, and prepare them for the next step.

Tonight Firefighter Timothy William's honored his former crew and prepared an amazing meal to share with friends and family. Tim recently was promoted to Technician. Technician William's thanked his former crew and delivered a very sincere thank you and shared a terrific meal. We were joined by former officers and technicians of 23 Hose Co. As well as family and friends. Tim, you have worked extremely hard and have earned this spot. CONGRATULATIONS AND THANK YOU TECHNICIAN WILLIAMS. Best of luck and success as Wagon Driver!

Usually on Firefighter Memorial Day, we gather to honor and remember our Fallen Brothers. Even though we are unable to physically gather this year, we can still take the time to reflect on those we have lost. On this Firefighter Memorial Day, we recognize the latest Member whose sacrifice is immortalized on the Roll of Honor. Firefighter Technician Alex Graham.
His sacrifice and the sacrifice of all our Roll of Honor Members is the reason this Foundation exists. The Foundation would like to extend our thoughts and prayers to all our Roll of Honor Families. We want you to know that we are committed to our mission to provide you all with a Memorial worthy of your family members sacrifice.

A little delayed, but we don’t care! Jk
So, 23’s, B-shift, had a friendly bet with District of Columbia (Washington, D.C.) Station 23 over the World Series between the Houston Astros and Washington Nationals.
Well, we all know how that ended up, so here we are living up to our part of the bet. Houston Firehouse 23, sporting DCFD Station 23 t-shirts and a Washington Nationals 2019 WS Champions flag. #HoustonFire #DCFire #Firehouse23 #2019WorldSeries

General information

Engine Compay 23 serves the Foggy Bottom section of downtown Washington DC. Foggy Bottom is one of the oldest late 18th and 19th-century neighborhoods in Washington, D.C. Foggy Bottom is west of downtown Washington, in the Northwest quadrant, bounded roughly by 17th Street to the east, Rock Creek Parkway to the west, Constitution Avenue to the south, and Pennsylvania Avenue to the north. Much of Foggy Bottom is occupied by the main campus of George Washington University (GW). Foggy Bottom is thought to have received its name due to its riverside location, which made it susceptible to concentrations of fog and industrial smoke, an atmospheric quirk.
