Auditions are now open for the 2026 Young Company of A Christmas Carol! We’re looking for talented performers ages 7–13 to help bring this beloved holiday tradition to life.

🗓️ Auditions: Saturday, September 12 | 11 a.m.–5 p.m.
🗓️ Callbacks: Sunday, September 13 | Beginning at noon

📸 Bring a recent photo and resume.
🎶 Prepare a verse and chorus of a Christmas song (a ca****la).

The assassination of President Abraham Lincoln changed the lives of those who witnessed the tragedy firsthand — including the other couple in the Presidential Box that night.

The lives of Major Henry Rathbone and Clara Harris were forever altered, tragedy following them long after they left Ford’s Theatre.

While President Abraham Lincoln did not live to see their adoption, his leadership during the Civil War laid important groundwork for the amendments that followed his assassination.

On July 28 1868, one of those amendments — the Fourteenth Amendment — was officially adopted.

The amendment established birthright citizenship, guaranteed equal protection under the law and prohibited states from depriving any person of life, liberty or property without due process—principles that continue to shape American democracy today.

Lincoln’s vision of a “new birth of freedom” lived on through measures like the Fourteenth Amendment, leaving a lasting impact on the nation.
