Ground-Breaking Research, Noteworthy Awards Presented at International Research Conference Hosted by UTHSC - UTHSC News

Earlier this month, SEBM sponsored a conference with Experimental Biology and Medicine which was hosted by the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in downtown Memphis.

The conference featured leaders in the field of regenerative medicine, including Dr. John Wikswo, Dr. Robert Schwartz, Dr. Guoli Ming, and Dr. Gábor Tigyi. Dr. Arnold Caplan delivered the conferences keynote on the potential of mesenchymal stem cells in healing diseases such as COVID-19

Representatives from nearly all of FASEB's member societies took part in our first virtual Capitol Hill Days this week, asking Congress to provide robust and sustained budget increases for science research agencies. Among the many meetings that took place was this meeting (shown here on Zoom) with FASEB's Ellen Kuo, along with Society for the Study of Reproduction's Diane Duffy, Association of Biomolecular Resource Facilities - ABRF's Jay Fox, and Society for Experimental Biology and Medicine's Michael Friedlander who met with Donald Pollard from Senator Tim Kaine's office.
“This is a prime example of how the academic and research ecosystem at SUNY Poly’s College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering is ripe for the development of disruptive technologies that cross broad scientific disciplines, and I am proud of the opportunities that are provided to our students who are able to engage in impactful research,” said Dr. Melendez.

Notably, the publication was also selected by Society for Experimental Biology and Medicine
