Supreme Court rules against immigrants with temporary status

TPS holders are essential to our communities and deserve a pathway to permanent residence.

The House passed H.R. 6, the Dream and Promise Act, with a bipartisan vote. It is time for the Senate to act and pass this much-needed legislation.

WASHINGTON (AP) — A unanimous Supreme Court ruled Monday that thousands of people living in the U.S. for humanitarian reasons are ineligible to apply to become permanent residents. Amazon and EBay Would Face Counterfeit Liability Under New Bill

Brick-and-mortar stores are liable if they sell dangerous counterfeits. But online retailers can easily get off the hook if others use their platform to sell harmful counterfeits. Consumers deserve protection from harmful counterfeits in-person AND online.

E-commerce platforms run by Amazon.com Inc. and EBay Inc. would face increased liability when third-party vendors on their sites sell dangerous counterfeits under a bill discussed by a U.S. House panel Thursday.

How 100 years — and a desire for truth — made the Tulsa massacre visible

100 years ago, a White mob looted and destroyed nearly 40 square blocks of Tulsa's Greenwood district, an affluent Black community known as the #BlackWallStreet.

We must never forget the lives and livelihoods that were lost during one of our country’s worst episodes of racial violence.

The long-hidden racist attack on "Black Wall Street" and its residents is finally in the open — and raising questions about all that Americans don’t know and have tried to hide.

Congresswoman Cori Bush: "As of March, more than 250 laws have been introduced in at least 45 states aimed in doing one thing…silencing the voices of Black and Brown and indigenous voters."

At least 11 people were shot dead and another 69 were injured over the weekend. This violence tears at the fabric of our families and communities. We must #EndGunViolence and save lives.

Biden Will Allow Haitian Immigrants In The US To Obtain Temporary Protected Status

The redesignation of Haiti for TPS is welcome news. Conditions in Haiti continue to be deeply troubling and Haitian nationals in the U.S. deserve our protection. Thank you Secretary Mayorkas and President Joe Biden for taking this much needed action.

The designation of Temporary Protected Status will apply to Haitians — or individuals without nationality who last resided in Haiti — who were in the US as of May 21.

What slavery reparations from the federal government could look like

#HR40 will begin the conversation about how our country can confront and atone for one of the darkest chapters in American history. It is time for Congress to act.

Calls for reparations for enslaved men and women, and their descendants, have been made since the Civil War. But the federal government has never met them.

'Fireworks' as witnesses, leaders clash at Senate voting rights hearing

The right to vote was fundamental to the founding of our country and will be fundamental to our nation’s future. Last week, the Committee held a hearing on the evolving landscape of voter discrimination.

Craig Melvin is joined by Jane Timm and Leigh Ann Caldwell to discuss Thursday's contentious Senate hearing on voting rights, and voting rights bills currently being legislated in states around the country.

Since the start of this Congress, the House Judiciary Committee has been hard at work delivering real solutions to the American people.

We've held 1️⃣6️⃣ hearings on issues like reforming our immigration system, restoring meaningful antitrust enforcement, preserving our judicial system, and improving our criminal justice system.

And we've brought over 🔟 landmark bills to the House floor that will:

🏳️‍🌈 Ban LGBTQ+ discrimination
🦋 Protect DREAMers
⚖️Reimagine policing
🟠 Expand background checks for gun sales
🗳Safeguard the right to vote

And so much more!
