WHO ARE WE?
Society of Global Health Researchers in Action is a student-run non-profit, founded in February of 2006, that is dedicated to the support of student and early career scientists in various aspects of global health. By providing a collaborative platform upon which donors, sponsors, and funding-seekers can build relations, SOGHR strives to assist tomorrow’s global health researchers in their quest to become great stewards of our planet. In addition to supporting global health researchers by improving access to funding and other resources, SOGHR also raises awareness of global health issues through lectures, presentations, and panel discussions. As we grow, we seek new sponsors as well as new students and new staff. SOGHR is led by an executive board and supported by seven targeted committees (Finance, Volunteer, Human Resources, Marketing, Strategic Development, Internal Communications, and University Chapters). Direction for SOGHR’s projects and mission comes from a collaborative decision-making process between the committees and the executive board.
