"Auld Lang Syne" from Max Impact's Technical Sgt. Aaron Trasatt

AULD LANG SYNE 🎉 | As we look towards 2023, we can't help but reflect on this past year. 2022 brought a return to public concerts, tours to the Southeast and Northwest corridors of the United States, performances at sporting events, and remembrance ceremonies at The White House. Our Guest Artist Series and Jazz Heritage Series helped to inspire the next generation of musicians. The Inaugural Diversity Fellowship offered an opportunity for college-aged musicians from a range of backgrounds to fully immerse themselves in our unit. Most importantly, we continued to honor our veterans: at concerts, in Honor Flight performances, and at our sacred missions at Arlington National Cemetery.

Max Impact's keyboardist, Technical Sgt. Aaron Trasatt masterfully arranged and performed this timeless favorite, "Auld Lang Syne." The song dates back to the 1600s but we promise you haven't heard a version quite like this.

On behalf of The United States Air Force Band we wish you a Happy New Year! See you in 2023!

CHRISTMAS EVE 🎄 | This Christmas Eve, we want to wish all of our families and friends a very Merry Christmas! We are thinking of all of the service members who are deployed around the world and their families who may be missing them during this special holiday season.

We are so grateful for the sacrifices that our service members make every day to protect and defend our country, and we are proud to be a part of The United States Air Force Band, serving alongside them.

Though we may be apart physically, we are connected through our shared commitment to duty, honor, and country. We hope that you all have a joyous and memorable Christmas, surrounded by loved ones and filled with warmth and cheer.

VERSATILITY | Technical Sergeant Nadia Sosnoski is not only an incredible musician but a versatile one as well! Earlier this month, she augmented the Airmen of Note for their annual holiday concert in Montgomery, Alabama! Sgt. Sosnoski can sing rock band music and jazz with equal skill and passion. Her talent and versatility never cease to impress. You can catch her with Max Impact in 2023, as we have some exciting performances in store for you!

GOOD SOUNDS | Our audio engineers are truly the best in the industry. They can be found in the back of the hall, or behind the scenes ensuring that our audio is mixed perfectly for all our audiences. Pictured here is, Technical Sgt. Anthony O'Connor assisting with Max Impact's set up at the NASCAR Championship cup! Sgt. O'Connor joined The United States Air Force Band in 2022, and brought with him 12 years of experience working as a professional audio engineer in New Jersey, Colorado and New York before joining with the USAF Heritage of America Band. He studied audio engineering at William Paterson University of New Jersey and the University of Colorado Denver.

When asked what excites him about working for The United States Air Force Band he said, "Live music is such a dynamic environment. Every performance presents its own unique set of challenges and rewards. There are so many great moments that happen at live events. You have to be there to experience them. I am lucky to get to work with a great audio team and world class musicians every day!"

If you've been to a recent Max Impact performance, let us know in the comments! We look forward to seeing you again. Stay tuned for more on our upcoming performances.

VROOM VROOM 🏁 | This past weekend, The United States Air Force Band's Max Impact dazzled audiences and teamed up with U.S. Air Force Recruiting at the NASCAR Championship Cup Series at the Phoenix Raceway! Performing beside one of the first F-16s used by the Air Force Thunderbirds, the band attracted tons of people to the Air Force recruitment hangar to learn about what it means to be an Airman in the world's greatest Air Force.

We also met tons of veterans and family members throughout the weekend. We appreciate them taking time to share their service stories with us.

Thank you to all those who came out to see Max Impact this weekend, and congratulations to Joey Logano on his Championship Cup win!

Welcome home, Max Impact!

NATIONAL DAY OF THE DEPLOYED | October 26th is nationally recognized as Day of the Deployed, a day where we recognize the service of deployed military personnel serving around the world. Additionally, this observance also honors the sacrifices of deployed service members’ families.

Members of The United States Air Force Band's Max Impact have deployed on numerous occasions. While deployed, Max Impact becomes a part of the AFCENT Band where they have a 21-nation Area of Responsibility that includes nations such as: Afghanistan, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Kazakhstan, United Arab Emirates, and more.

One year ago, Max Impact returned from a several month long deployment and we captured this heartwarming video of them being greeted by their loved ones. We keep all those who are deployed in our thoughts and wish all of them a safe return!

The Air Force Song 75th Anniversary Tattoo

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, U.S. AIR FORCE! | On September 18, 1947, The United States Air Force officially became its own branch of the United States military. Originally part of the Army, the Air Force as we know it today evolved from The Aeronautical Section, Signal Corps in 1909, Aviation Section Signal Corps in 1914, United States Army Air Service in 1918, United States Army Air Corps in 1926, and the United States Army Air Forces in 1941. Since then, the Air Force has been proud to innovate, accelerate, and thrive, delivering unparalleled air power anywhere in the world.

As our birthday tribute, we hope you enjoy this clip of the Air Force Song from the Air Force's 75th Birthday Tattoo last week at Audi Field!
