"Yerevan has every right to define the policies of the Republic of Armenia. It does not have the authority to define who may advocate for Armenian rights outside its borders or decide which historical obligations the nation may set aside." - Bill Paparian

As the grandson of Nishan Paparian of Kharpert, who stepped onto Ellis Island a century ago carrying the unfinished business of survival, I have watched with growing concern the recent exchange in Armenia’s National Assembly. Civil Contract lawmaker Arman Yeghoyan’s remarks questioning whether a...

Artsakh, Ararat, our diaspora and the holy Apostolic Church are not diseases afflicting Armenians - malignancies to be excised - but rather chambers of the beating heart of our ancient nation, coursing vital lifeblood through our veins – nourishing our bodies and inspiring our souls to forge a healthier, more vigorous future.

They are to be nurtured and uplifted, not attacked or cast aside. - Aram Suren Hamparian

ANCA Summer Spotlight: Vanna Davtyan, a senior at Rose and Alex Pilibos Armenian School in Glendale, CA, is looking to become a human rights or criminal attorney.

Vanna is an active member of the AYF Crescenta Valley "Zartonk" Chapter, where she has given back to her community by educating youth and leading fundraising efforts. She's also a member of her school's first Model UN team and founded her school's first UNICEF Club.

"I am excited to spend time in DC with the Kasparian Summer Academy, to learn more about advocating for those who can't speak for themselves, lobbying members of Congress, and hearing from speakers who will teach me more about the ANCA and how we can effectively advocate for Armenia and Artsakh here in the U.S.," Vanna says. "I look forward to working alongside the ANCA and making a positive and powerful impact for my community."

The ANCA is proud to host Vanna as part of the Kasparian Summer Academy and looks forward to supporting her as she builds a future in human rights advocacy.

"Our Diaspora has long represented Armenia's first line of defense - a second army working across six continents, projecting geopolitical power - providing the strategic depth that Armenia lacks geographically, but makes up for through global influence." - Aram Suren Hamparian, ANCA

"Real peace cannot be built on genocide - upon the now-emptied, ethnically-cleansed lands of Artsakh's indigenous Armenians.

Rewarding genocide, normalizing ethnic cleansing, creates the conditions not for peace, but for more genocide & ethnic cleansing." - Aram Suren Hamparian
