And that’s a wrap on an unforgettable five weeks of our Resilience camp at Midtown Youth Academy! 🥊🏆✨

We are so incredibly proud of how our youth challenged themselves, stepped out of their comfort zones, and grew together. From our youngest to our oldest campers, the bonds formed this summer have been amazing to watch.

Over the final three weeks, our days were packed with high-energy training and incredible community adventures: Boxing, Museums & Libraries, Swimming, and Dining Experiences.

⚾ The Grand Finale: We wrapped up our final week by heading out to the ballpark to cheer on the Washington Nationals! It was the perfect, home-run ending to an impactful summer of growth.

Thank you to all of our amazing campers, supportive families, and dedicated staff for making this season so special. Keep pushing, stay resilient, and we’ll see you back in the gym! 💪🌟

🥊 History in and out of the ring! 🥊

Our champions visited the National Museum of African American History and Culture 🙌🏻

We didn't just study the profound overall history of African Americans, we dove into the legacy of legendary boxers who fought for freedom both inside and outside the ropes. 🏛️✨

Our youth explored the powerful displays of icons like Muhammad Ali and Jack Johnson, discovering how they used their platforms to change the world.

We also uncovered the heavy history of boxing's origins in America, learning how enslaved people literally fought for their freedom.

Knowledge is power, and today our youth knocked it out of the park! 🧠💥

🥊 A Full-Circle Moment at the Premiere! 🎬

We are still excited from watching premiere of "They Fight"! Midtown Youth Academy was honored to attend as an grantee, but the night meant so much more to us.

The subject of this powerful documentary actually trained right here at MYA as a youth! Seeing one of our own champions share his story, resilience, and heart with the world on the big screen was a deeply moving experience for our staff and current youth.

A massive thank you to Events DC for the invitation and for their continued support of our mission. This film is proof that the mentorship, discipline, and community we build at MYA help shape incredible lives. We couldn't be prouder! 🌟

That's a wrap on the first two weeks of our Resilience camp at Midtown Youth Academy! 🥊✨

We’ve enjoyed seeing our youth step out of their comfort zones and challenge themselves. We have a wide range of ages in the building, and it has been amazing to see everyone bonding and diving into our diverse mix of camp activities.

We didn't capture everyone into these photos, but believe there is plenty of fun still in store over the next three weeks!

🥊 We had an incredible time connecting with our community at the Network's 2026 Out-of-School Time Conference and Showcase!

We hosted a resource table and set up a live boxing exhibit right on the showcase floor. One of our amazing coaches and a talented youth boxer team demonstrated the hard work, focus, and discipline that happens in our gym every single day.

For nearly 50 years, we have been proud to serve Washington, DC youth by proving that success requires a strong game plan both inside the ring and in the classroom. Events like this allow us to show the city how we use boxing and academic support to build champions in life.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our table, watched our exhibit, and continues to champion our mission!

🥊 Summer camp starts THIS MONDAY at Midtown Youth Academy! From June 29 to July 29, our campers will dive into an unforgettable month packed with action, learning, and growth. We are bringing the energy with boxing fundamentals to build strength and discipline, swimming sessions to cool off, and exciting museum field trips to spark curiosity. With team games and creative activities filling every single day, we are officially locked in for the best summer ever.
