Drone pilots: Wildfires are a !
Drones can force firefighting aircraft to land, delaying critical response efforts and allowing fires to grow. Violators may face significant fines and criminal prosecution. Always check TFRs before you fly: https://tfr.faa.gov/.

🚫 NO DRONE ZONES 🚫

The Oregon Department of Emergency Management and Oregon Department of Aviation urge all drone operators: Never fly drones over or near active wildfires. 𝗜𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗳𝗹𝘆, 𝘄𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗻'𝘁.

When a drone is spotted, life‑saving aircraft must stop operations—putting firefighters and communities at risk.

The consequences are serious:
💸 Up to $75,000 in civil fines
⛓️ Up to 12 months in federal prison
📵 Confiscation of equipment
🛑 Permanent revocation of pilot certificates

America's skies demand a modern air traffic control system. ✈️

The FAA and U.S. Department of Transportation are modernizing the nation's air traffic control system one airport at a time and improving the travel experience for millions of passengers.
Here's our progress:
✅ 62% telecommunications lines replaced with fiber-optic and wireless infrastructure
✅ 96 surface awareness systems installed
✅ 380 analog radios converted to digital
✅ 20 tower electronic flight strips implemented
✅ 166 voice switch systems installed
✅ 9 new radar systems deployed

Another system upgrade is complete! ✅ Dayton International Airport (DAY) is the 20th tower to switch from using antiquated paper strips to groundbreaking electronic flight strips. The upgraded technology provides controllers real-time traffic data and enhances safety and efficiency for travelers. 🛫
