ActBlue launches a new passport verification program for overseas donors — days after House Republicans accused the platform of accepting donations without confirming whether donors were actually U.S. citizens.

The move comes after a GOP report found ActBlue's old system only checked that a passport number had the right number of characters, not that it was a valid U.S. passport.

Ten top ActBlue figures, including executives and founders, have pleaded the Fifth Amendment to avoid answering questions from GOP-led committees investigating the platform.
