Partnership in action!
The partnership between Save The Bay, Safe Harbor, and Restore America's Estuaries is helping connect communities to the San Francisco Bay—and turn that connection into action.
Save The Bay’s programs at Oakland’s Martin Luther King Jr. Regional Shoreline, part of the East Bay Regional Park District, have brought together 95 volunteers, including 44 kids, who have:
🗑️ Removed 397 pounds of trash
🌱 Removed 5 pounds of weeds and invasive species
🙌 Contributed 285 volunteer hours
And this is just the beginning. Even more young people will soon have the opportunity to learn about Bay ecology, climate resilience, habitat restoration, and stewardship through hands-on experiences as school returns this fall with a goal of getting 500 students more invested in STEM learning in nature!
The partnership will also support Save The Bay’s annual Coastal Cleanup on September 19, bringing families and community members together to help keep the Bay shoreline clean and healthy.
This is exactly what the 2026 Coastal & Estuarine Summit is all about: bringing partners together to turn collaboration into meaningful action for our coasts and estuaries.
