On Thursday, 8/6/26, DC Fire And EMS (FEMS) responded to 3500 Minnesota Ave, SE and extinguished an apartment fire while minimizing damage to adjacent apartments.

During suppression efforts, a person of interest was stopped and detained by the Washington Metropolitan Police Dept. while the FEMS Fire Arson Investigation Unit conducted a fire scene examination.

Following the investigation, the fire was classified as an incendiary fire and the subject was arrested and charged with arson.
