The threats to our elections are real and they’re increasing. But democracy isn't losing without a fight.

* Thousands marched on Selma and Montgomery to push back on the Supreme Court gutting voting rights protections — proof that attacks on our elections don't go unanswered.

* In South Carolina, Senate Republicans rejected a district redraw that would've wiped out the state's only Black-majority district — gerrymandering isn't inevitable, lawmakers can still say no.

* A court unsealed a Fulton County court case involving a DOJ subpoena for records on 2020 election workers, so the public can actually watch what happens next.

* And the NAACP is back in court fighting to hold USPS to its promise to handle election mail fast and fairly.

None of this happens without people watching, showing up, and holding the line.

Trump’s trying to use the Postal Service to make it harder to vote by mail.

should WITHDRAW this rule and allow the Postal Service to continue operating as a neutral mail carrier during election season — not as the gatekeeper for votes that the Trump administration wants.

Leave a public comment on the rule by July 2: https://actionnetwork.org/letters/stop-usps-rule-on-mail-in-voting-0626/?source=social-io

This is what authoritarianism looks like:

Using federal law enforcement to raid organizations that register voters (especially voters of color and young voters) and calling it a “voter fraud investigation” despite no evidence of fraud. It’s intimidation dressed up as law enforcement.

Here’s how we fight back: register to vote right now. And tell everyone to register too. Here’s how:

🗳️Visit vote.org to register online, or
🗳️Visit voteriders.org for help getting a voter ID and register to vote
🗳️Share this with three people you know, ask them to do the same

President Trump’s politicization and erosion of cybersecurity infrastructure has weakened our national security and left our country more exposed to cyber threats.

On a recent podcast, former Congressmen Tim Roemer (D-IN) and Reid Ribble (R-WI) emphasized that all Americans should be concerned, regardless of political party.

🔗 Listen to the full podcast:

The episode features a discussion with former Congress members Tim Roemer and Reid Ribble, who highlight the dismantling of CISA, the federal agency tasked with defending U. S. infrastructure from cyberattacks. They express concern over the agency's reduced staff and lack of leadership amid increasi...

Speaker Johnson is parroting Trump's claims of fraud in LA's mayoral primary. (TLDR: the MAGA-backed candidate lost his spot in the runoff.) Their evidence? None. Johnson literally said it's "impossible to prove."

This is the playbook: manufacture doubt, then seize control. We've seen it before — and we're calling it out.

But we also know the antidote: an informed and activated electorate.

So check out Issue One's election protection playbook at the link in bio — and make sure you are registered to vote.

50 countries now rank above the United States in democracy. That's not a typo. According to the V-Dem’s 2026 Democracy Report, the U.S. just saw its steepest one-year decline in democracy in modern history.

But here's the bright spot: our elections are still free and fair. That window won't stay open forever. Stay vigilant. Stay informed. Vote like democracy depends on it — because right now, it does.

Today, the House passed a War Powers Resolution to end the unconstitutional war in Iran.

GOOD.

But let’s be clear: This illegal war started 95 days ago. Our elected officials had 8 other chances to pass this bill.  To stop this latest example of executive overreach. Each time, they didn’t.

Meanwhile, polls show the American people don’t want and can’t afford this war. Not to mention, 13 service members paid the greatest price of all, and came home in flag-draped coffins. Hundreds more were wounded.

So, we’re glad they got there. But the American people deserve better this. The Constitution isn’t optional.

We’ll be watching to make sure everyone in Congress follows through—because now the Senate has to act.

Send them a message thru the 🔗 in bio.

This is what democracy looks like when we stay loud. 🇺🇸

Now we need your voice on something urgent:

Tomorrow, the Senate votes on a War Powers Resolution to end the unconstitutional war in Iran.

Call your senators today: 202-224-3121. Here’s your script 👇

“Hi, my name is [NAME], and I’m a constituent from [CITY/STATE]. I’m calling to urge Senator [NAME] to vote YES on the War Powers Resolution this Wednesday. The American people do not want this war, and Congress has a constitutional obligation to weigh in. Please do the right thing. Thank you.”
