This past Saturday, 8th & I went to the SHARE Warehouse to prepare boxes for Thanksgiving and spice packets to go in the boxes. This is one of their favorite places to go to do community service. I just love the spirit of these youth. We are 8th & I Strong!

The 8th & I Young Marines had a very busy weekend. Saturday morning they went to the Pentagon South Parking Lot and participated in the Marine Corps Kids Run. Saturday evening they attended the Battalion Young Marine Ball. They danced and fellowshipped with Young Marines from Nation’s Capital and Oxon Hill. Our YM/Private Lopez received a 3rd degree lifesaving ribbon for efforts to safe a woman during the summer. After all the dancing, they went home and got up early this morning to go support the participants of the Marine Corps Marathon. These young people put their all into the event today. I am so proud of each and everyone of them.

I was a boy scout from 1973 C.E. to 1980 C.E.. I got up to Eagle Scout in Troop 1970 in 1980 C.E. I am the 8th Boy scout in Troop 1970 to get this august rank. And I never forget the Marines @ 8 th and I streets SE when I work for the Washington Nationals. I bring them the scores of the game and I hope to do this if I can work @ the Capital 1 Arena.
Congratulations Young Recruits
8th & I Young Marines!!
Today was truly an adventure. We went to the town of Sishu to visit with some old friends the Hong family. They are direct descendent of Confucius. They took us on a little trip to their apple orchard in the country side. Little Scott had the opportunity to work on his engineering and Masonry skills. By the way they were using mud and 💩 to put the bricks together. Don't worry the first thing he did when we got back was 🛀🏻. He also had a great time playing with his little Chinese brother Lele. They found goose eggs. Unfortunately none were golden. It was so hot he really wanted to go for a 🏊🏻. We will need to find a cleaner pool maybe next time. This experience has gave him a greater appreciation of the things in his own life. He said it was hard work. Is there anything a homeschooler cannot do. Praise God.🙏🏼
