We are saddened to learn of the passing of Frank Persico B.A. 1974, M.A. 1976.

Frank's time at spanned five decades, seeing him first as a student followed by numerous administrative roles across campus. He was a friend to Special Collections, sharing detailed accounts of the campus past with our curators and arranging donations of University history.

We also enjoyed his visits to our reading room and will miss his friendly chats and good-natured jokes.

Pictured are snapshots of Frank's time at , from his early days as a student in 1974 to his days working alongside such local luminaries as DC Mayor Marion Barry and University President Fr. David O'Connell.

Our latest blog looks at the cooperation and legacy of Msgr. George Higgins and leader Cesar Chavez.

A new exhibit in the Mullen Library second floor reading room (from February through May 2024) presents objects, articles, photographs, and letters from the George Higgins collection detailing the story of the Catholic Church and the United Farm Workers (UFW) during the drive to unionize farm workers. Through these objects, a picture of cooperation between the two organizations seeking to better the lives of thousands forms.
