💻🔐 Let's talk about Cryptocurrency: What Is It and How Does It Work?
You've probably heard terms like Bitcoin, Ethereum, and digital wallets—but what exactly is cryptocurrency?
Cryptocurrency is a type of digital currency that exists only online. Unlike traditional money issued by governments, cryptocurrencies operate on a technology called a blockchain—a secure, public ledger that records transactions across a network of computers.
Here's a simple breakdown:
🔹 You store cryptocurrency in a digital wallet.
🔹 When you send or receive cryptocurrency, the transaction is verified by the network.
🔹 Once verified, the transaction is added to the blockchain, creating a permanent record.
🔹 Because the blockchain is decentralized, no single bank or company controls it.
While cryptocurrency can offer new opportunities for payments and investments, it attracts scammers who exploit its complexity and the difficulty of reversing transactions.
🚨 Before investing or sending cryptocurrency:
✅ Research the platform and company.
✅ Be cautious of unsolicited investment opportunities.
✅ Never send cryptocurrency to someone you've never met in person.
✅ Remember: If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
