This summer, two undergraduate research assistants from The University of Texas at Dallas, Nicole Morales (Fall 2025 Archer Fellow) and Benjamin Farren, explored archives, libraries, museums, and historic sites across Washington, D.C.

Through UT Dallas’ SPUR program, they strengthened their research and teaching skills by helping develop new lesson plans for our Politics of National Memory class.

Thank you, Nicole and Benjamin, for a great summer!

What a meaningful finale for our Summer 2026 Graduate Archer Fellows! As their Fellowship experience comes to an end, the cohort shared the culmination of their policy research with guest experts, gathered for reflection during our traditional sunset class at the Ulysses S. Grant Memorial, and honored those who served through a wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery’s Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. We are proud of all they have accomplished and excited to celebrate their graduation today.

As we near the end of the summer term, our Graduate Archer Fellows enjoyed a behind-the-scenes Supreme Court tour, gathered for our final Thursday Coffee, and explored career-building opportunities in health informatics with guest speaker and UTHealth Graduate Archer Fellowship Program Campus Coordinator Robert Hammarberg.

We’re exploring the best of Washington, D.C., with our Graduate Archer Fellows! Last week, the cohort experienced the vibrant culture and history of Adams Morgan on a neighborhood walk, connected over Thursday Coffee at Joe & The Juice, and celebrated America's 250th year with a record-breaking Independence Day fireworks display over the National Mall.
