The Fair Elections Program provides for publicly funded political campaigns for qualified candidates. Candidates participating in the 2020 Election have filed their July 31 Report of Receipts and Expenditures.

Campaign Finance Training

Training is mandatory for each Candidate for public office (with the exception of Candidates for Advisory Neighborhood Commissioners), and each Treasurer of a Political Committee,

Political Action Committee, or Independent Expenditure Committee.

Training sessions are currently held virtually due to the Coronavirus Pandemic. Additional information about Training is available at the OCF website.

This presentation should address many of the questions you may have and provide a better understanding of your responsibilities to this Office, helping you in staying in compliance with the Campaign Finance Laws and Regulations as it pertains to candidates for ANC.

Be advised that candidates for Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner (ANC) are not required to file registration
documents with the Office of Campaign Finance.

Registration for ANC candidates is completed by our Office
based on the list of candidates we receive from the Board of
Elections. There is no registration requirement on the part
of the ANC candidate.

The Office of Campaign Finance is spreading the word about the new Fair Elections Public Funding Program and its Traditional Funding Program. OCF participated in ANC 4D's Fall Festival in the Petworth neighborhood at Gallatin St., and Illinois Ave. N.W. last weekend. OCF's Supervisory Officer Deloris Ramsey shared information about the program that provides qualified candidates with matching funds and lump sum payments with attendees. ANC Renee Bowser and other ANCs were on hand along with residents for a wonderful Fall festival event.

Established within the DC Board of Elections, OCF administers and enforces the District of Columbia laws pertaining to campaign finance operations, lobbying activities, conflict of interest matters, the ethical conduct of public officials, and constituent service and statehood fund programs.
